Who should be allowed to pray at the Temple Mount?

I absolutely agree that it reflects very well on the Israeli government that they allow the status-quo (with the arabs controlling the Temple Mount completely) to continue, however it's worth noting that Jews do not want to pray there. They hold that Jews are not allowed on the Temple Mount nowadays. Of course, non-orthodox Jews do still go there, but not to pray.

But the Jews do want to rebuild the temple, right?

Why are religions which make reference to the Temple Mount any worse then other religions?

Also, why does Israel, who controls the site and is apparently one of the most evil nations on Earth, only let Muslims pray there?  I'm honestly curious how the anti-Zionists spin that.
