Also, why does Israel, who controls the site and is apparently one of the most evil nations on Earth, only let Muslims pray there?  I'm honestly curious how the anti-Zionists spin that.

I absolutely agree that it reflects very well on the Israeli government that they allow the status-quo (with the arabs controlling the Temple Mount completely) to continue, however it's worth noting that Jews do not want to pray there. They hold that Jews are not allowed on the Temple Mount nowadays. Of course, non-orthodox Jews do still go there, but not to pray.

But the Jews do want to rebuild the temple, right?

No mainstream Jewish group in Israel wants to right now. They believe only when the Messiah comes will it be built.

Ideally nobody would follow any religion that made any reference to the temple mount whatsoever.

Why are religions which make reference to the Temple Mount any worse then other religions?

Because the revealed religions are utter abominations and need to be purged.

People are probably ignoring the post due to it revolving around a strawman. Also if you think the whole issue is "Israel mistreats MUSLIMS" you're showing a great lack of understanding of the situation.

That said, considering I am anti-Islam, why should I think Israel is doing a good thing here? Though it is irrelevant as no Jew would wish to pray near the Mount today, and it no longer has any real relevance beyond historical value to Christians.

Blame my ignorance.  It certainly wasn't an intentional strawman.

Still, there are Jews that would like to pray on part of it.  I don't like restrictive laws that are there only to keep a specific group from throwing tantrums.  It's an archaeological gold mine if nothing else.  Let Indiana Jewones dig.

The Dome of the Rock is still there. The Israelis know that some religious barriers are not to be breached.
