Trump is getting deeper and deeper into that hole. It's really fascinating how a majority of the GOP electorate thinks this dude is their man for 2024.

I have a feeling it's going to happen this time, he'll be convicted. Perhaps after the 2024 election, but it's inevitably going to happen. He can rant as much as he wants.

That said, Trump pretty much has locked the nomination. RDS's response is a total joke. He'll neither impress neither soft Trump supporters nor critics (the few left in the GOP).

In case it hasn't been posted or someone needs it again, this is the indictment: https://int.nyt.com/data/documenttools/trump-jan-6-indictment-2020-election/1f1c76972b25c802/full.pdf

I scrolled through and read some sections. If it wasn't actually so serious, reading some of his Tweets/expressions quoted in such an official document makes is everything so cringe. Like on page 16:

Quote
32. The next day , on January 3 , the Defendant falsely claimed that the Georgia
Secretary of State had not addressed the Defendant's allegations , publicly stating that the Georgia
Secretary of State was unwilling , or unable , to answer questions such as the ballots under table
scam , ballot destruction , out of state voters , dead voters , and more . He has no clue!

lol Trump wants the case moved to WV

Quote
The latest Fake “case” brought by Crooked Joe Biden & Deranged Jack Smith will hopefully be moved to an impartial Venue, such as the politically unbiased nearby State of West Virginia! IMPOSSIBLE to get a fair trial in Washington, D.C., which is over 95% anti-Trump, & for which I have called for a Federal TAKEOVER in order to bring our Capital back to Greatness. It is now a high crime embarrassment to our Nation and, indeed, the World. This Indictment is all about Election Interference!!!

The Radical Left wants to Criminalize Free Speech!

Trump would like to personally handpick all the jurors, so that he is judged by his "peers", that is peole who have voted for him.

He'd pick all previous winners from Ms. Universe.

* Stocks up on popcorn *

Trump could have been relaxing at Mar-A-Lago if he just conceded in 2020 and then grifted of the fact he was a former president for the rest of his life

Yup, he even would have gotten away with everything else then. But his ego narcissistic personality disorder just couldn't bring himself to admit defeat.

Trump implies Biden knew he was about to be indicated.

Quote
It has just been reported that aides to TRUMP prosecutor, Deranged Jack Smith, met with high officials at the White House just prior to these political SleazeBags Indicating me OVER NOTHING. If this is so, which it is, that means that Biden and his Fascist Thugs knew and APPROVED of this Country dividing Form of Election Interference, despite their insisting that they “knew nothing.” It’s all a BIG LIE, just like Russia, Russia, Russia, & not knowing about son’s business dealings. DISMISS CASE!

Well, last time I checked Biden was a lawyer. So why wouldn't have more knowledge than Trump or the average person?

Her acting as if Jan 2024 and 2026 are equivalent somehow is ridiculous. Absolutely no reason why Jan 2024 is not doable.

Perhaps, and that's just wild guessing on my part, she wants to appear as neutral and balanced as it can get. Even when things aren't balanced here and Trump and his cult won't acknowledge anything positive about her unless she fully rules in his favor 100% of the time.

Here is Trump's reaction and hopefully he won't be able to say **** like this soon.

Quote
Biden Prosecutor, Deranged Jack Smith, has asked the Court to limit 45th President, and leading Republican Nominee (by more than 50 points, & beating Dems!) DONALD J. TRUMP’S, PUBLIC STATEMENTS. So, I’m campaigning for President against an incompetent person who has WEAPONIZED the DOJ & FBI to go after his Political Opponent, & I am not allowed to COMMENT? They Leak, Lie, & Sue, & they won’t allow me to SPEAK? How else would I explain that Jack Smith is DERANGED, or Crooked Joe is INCOMPETENT?

Jesus. Why do all his messages read like from a whiny toddler that just got his M&Ms taken away?

How long until the MAGA types start attacking Pence's son?

MAGA types? The fish stinks from the head. I wouldn't be surprised to read a long "Truth Social" rant by Mr. Trump in ALL CAPS very soon.

At the Appeals Court, Trump’s lawyers are currently, explicitly arguing that it would be perfectly legal for the president to assassinate a political rival.

I would like to ask them whether they believe Biden should have that right, too.

It's pretty sickening, though unsurprising, that Trump may get away with his delay tactics.

Yup, at least if he's winning the election. Even more sickening is the fact he actually had a chance to win in the first place and so many people are willing to just ignore 91 felony charges and many more scandals.

Trump will obviously appeal, and Alito and Thomas will obviously rule in his favor. Roberts and the liberals will rule against him. So how do the Trump judges rule? We’d only need 1 of them.

I think there's a good chance the Court would deny cert and not even hear it, but if they did I'd expect at least 7-2 against Trump.

Yup. Even a partisan hack justice must realize that ruling in favor of unlimited presidential immunity is bad in the long run because each other prez to come could invoke this case for massive abuse.

Trump says in this filing that it would violate the first amendment rights of the voters if the case is not stayed.

LOL. What about the 1st Amendment Rights of 81.3 million voters that fired him from the job?

Trump can't fire Smith. The AG can if s/he believes Smith is going far outside of the norms of what a reasonable prosecutor would do, and that decision has to be explained in writing to Congress.

It will absolutely happen. At the end of the day the AG Trump picks has complete discretion, and Trump has complete discretion to make the AG do it, written explanation to Congress notwithstanding.

Yup. So basically Nixon's playbook from the Saturday Night massacre when Archibald Cox was fired in 1973.

Decision expected by July? This is wrong! The Court goes into its summer recess on June 30 like they always do.

I expect a Decision from the Roberts Court by June 30 at the latest possibly even earlier.

In other words… by July.

Insane this even takes so long. The case should be thrown out immediately. Nobody is above the law.

Wow! Absurd!

So I guess the Watergate break-in was definitely an official act then. If only Nixon was so smart and found that out. He resigned for nothing.

Thomas bring up out of nowhere whether they have challenged Smith's appointment as SC in this case. This is a right wing talking point.

It's embarrassing this corrupt right-wing hack is still on the bench.
