Mom has always been pretty solidly center-left.  She'd fit in very well with non-US Green parties (we were big time Nader supporters in 2000).  Dad was a hippie who became a Reaganite.  He's voted R in presidential elections since 1984, but has been known to split his ballot on downballot races more and more recently, as he's found himself unmoored by the Tea Party ascendancy (he was a firm Huntsman supporter in 2012).
