Generally how are your parents when it comes to politics? Mine are VERY conservative (and very blatantly partisan) and obviously that affects my political views as well. Most people tend to have political views very similar to their parents, and it will be interesting to see if there people who have views different from their parents.

Although parents and family (neighborhoods as well) greatly affect your political views, I feel like I would've developed my very conservative fiscal stance anyway. My parents are much more socially conservative than I am and slightly less conservative economically than me.

Anyway what are your parents political views and how do they differ from yours? Also, poll is open for 6 days and I will allow a change in vote.

Conservative - Both parents are conservative.
Moderate - Both parents are moderate.
Liberal - Both parents are liberal.
Liberal/Conservative - One parent is liberal and the other is conservative.
Moderate/Conservative - One parent is moderate and the other is conservative.
Moderate/Liberal - One parent is moderate and the other is liberal.

Funny, I just gave my dad the PM test last week. He's always been a registered Republican; he scored:
E: -3.48
S: - 7.30

My mom would probably have a score more like mine, as she was raised in a more religious family.

My dad is a solid conservative Republican who enjoys FOX News, and talk radio. My mom is liberal in Korean politics (she participated in various student protests against the authoritarian regime there in the '80s) but seems to be conservative in American politics due to the influence of my dad.

Obviously both their views are strongly different from my own (although I also live with my grandmother, my aunt, and my uncle (siblings not married) on my mother's side who are all very liberal).

My dad has always been a Republican, but has become more socially liberal as he has aged.  And really, he's only a Republican because always been one.

But he has been pretty disillusioned by the party lately and is beginning to use the word libertarian more than I'd like to see.

My mom used to be a Republican but now she's a Democrat.  A pretty liberal one too.

My mother is a decidedly leftist Facebook troll, while my father is more slightly left of center. He supports the mainstream center-left positions (gay marriage, higher tax rate for the wealthy etc.) and has voted Democratic on the presidential level since at least 1996, which has only intensified after the Bush era, but sometimes falls victim to allegedly reasonable "common sense" conservatives. For instance I suspect he is supporting Christie in our upcoming gubernatorial election.

Mom has always been pretty solidly center-left.  She'd fit in very well with non-US Green parties (we were big time Nader supporters in 2000).  Dad was a hippie who became a Reaganite.  He's voted R in presidential elections since 1984, but has been known to split his ballot on downballot races more and more recently, as he's found himself unmoored by the Tea Party ascendancy (he was a firm Huntsman supporter in 2012).

My parents are disaffected Democrats.

My mom is a Democrat but doesn't really identify too much with the party anymore. She says she votes on 'issues' for the most part and doesn't take into consideration party affiliation, though I doubt that's actually the case, as for the most part, she's consistently voting Democratic at the local, state, and federal level. She is, however, rather anti-Obama (she's a teacher, after all) and voted for Nader in 2008 and Jill Stein in 2012.

My dad is a Democrat, but I don't think he's registered to vote. He's on his local's bargaining committee and in spite of being an evangelical, is strongly, strongly with the Democrats on just about every issue, would never vote for a Republican ever, etc.

Both my parents voted Liberal in the last federal and provincial elections, afaik. My dad voted for Panzergirl (FN) in the first round and couldn't vote in the runoff, he voted FN/UMP in the by-election earlier this year. My mom voted for Poison Dwarf (UMP) in both rounds, and voted Giscard Jr/UMP in the by-election. My mom generally leans centre-left, though (strongly anti-Harper); my dad is clearly very right-wing.

Dad: centre-left, always votes PSOE, hates conservative politicians no matter what and doesn't like communist either. He's a Juancarlista.

Mom: likes to say she's very left-wing, but tends to support conservative hacks in Brazil even if she's totally pro-choice, pro-gay... Very active person, but doesn't watch the news, read newspapers... And that may be why she endorses IU candidates in Spain and PSDB in Brazil at the same time. So, on paper very liberal, but not with a very established ideology...

Shocking as it may seem, both of my parents were moderate Pubs. Smiley  My politics are very similar to my Dad's (my mother was more emotional), but then I kind of think like, and have a similar temperament, to my Dad. I wanted to be like my Dad I guess is the truth of the matter. He was sort of my idol. He still is - 20 years after his death. He always will be.

My dad is a pretty much a typical conservative Republican, although he believes in evolution and doesn't seem to care about gay marriage one way or the other, both of which probably come form the fact that he has never been very religious. As for my mom, she doesn't like politics but she seem to be liberal on most social issues, although she's pro-life, and conservative on most economic issues.

This is a rather difficult answer to just give in a poll.  Until about 10-15 years ago, most of my immediate family were Independents (or Democrats if they identified with any party).  They never liked politics much, but they almost always made sure to vote if possible.  My mom is generally pretty liberal in her politics (although she doesn't consider herself one), but she is an Independent and acknowledges that she leans more Democrat.  She worked for Dukakis in 1988, and after she was paralyzed in a car accident during the campaign, he actually visited her in the hospital.  However, she has always disliked Bill Clinton and voted Republican both times he ran.  (If I remember correctly, she may have also voted for George W. Bush in 2004, but I'm not sure).  She also voted for President Obama twice (the only person in my immediate family that I'm aware of who did.)
I also live with my grandma and one aunt; my grandma generally was like my mom for much of her life (Democrat or Democrat-leaning Independent).  She voted for Jimmy Carter twice, as well as for Kennedy and Johnson.  (I believe she voted for Nixon twice, however.)  Her views have always been relatively conservative, but they have become more so since about 2000 or 2004.  She voted for Bush in 2004, McCain in 2008, and Romney in 2012, and she never liked Obama because she felt that he was too inexperienced to be president.  Nowadays, she would probably consider herself an Independent who leans Republican.  My aunt that I live with was a very liberal Democrat in her youth and even had some socialist tendencies.  But as she gained more life experience (and also due to learning more from me after I began to form my conservative Republican views), she has become more conservative.  Today, she would probably consider herself more of a conservative, and like my grandma, would consider herself a Republican-leaning Independent.  She voted for every Democratic presidential nominee from 1984 to 2000 (Mondale to Gore), but has voted for the Republican nominee every time from 2004 onward (Bush to Romney.)
