Still pretty much insane that Hillary won Arkansas and West Virginia here. I still somehow doubt she would have in actual 2008 against McCain.

With these approval ratings on election day, Bush may have pulled it off (though no guarantee, Hillary in 2016 didn't benefit from Obama's regained popularity).

I guess most apprval ratings tend to go up in the transition period. Even Poppy Bush left office with 56% approval rating if I remember correctly.

Given how close the election was, I could very well see 2012 becoming a rematch. Or Dubya just waits to 2016, which is kind of crazy to think about.
