So are most CT whites at this point, especially Democratic primary voters. Hell, Lieberman is about the only non-anti-war CT Democrat at this point.

I suspect that lower income voters are more turned off by the wealth limousine liberal image portrayed of Lamont. Lieberman has more blue collar appeal, it makes sense.

I'd still bet on Lamont winning but unfortunately it won't be enough to put an early end to Lieberman's independent campaign.

I eralized some weaknesses Lieberman has in the general.

One is advertising. How does he attack Lamont? He can't do it from the right, it'd piss of Democrats.

And then there's money. He has no party to give him cash, moderates tend not to be the types to donate, and conservatives will spend on Republicans in other races. And if he takes money from conservative PACs, Lamont gains another issue.

From what I read, Lieberman is now only the 4th sitting senator to lose a primary since 1980.
