Was a big time Freedom Country in WWII, but a HC today.

1-Polan put up a much better fight than any other attacked country, especially considering their 19th century military on paper didn't stand a chance. It took the Germans over a month to finish the invasion of a country where it was expected to take 3 days.
2-Poland was the only occupied country that didn't set up a collaborationist regime with the Nazis, because they couldn't find enough people willing to take part in one.
3-Even post-occupation Poland had the largest troop contribution to the Allies, after the Soviet Union, UK and US. Yes, more than the Free French.

That wasn't a collaborationist regime, it was completely managed by the German military. Poland had no equivalent of the Vichy, Ustase or Jozef Tiso.
