Casey does what he did against Rendel in the 2002 primary, and what he seems to be doing now, sitting bake and saying "I'm Bob Casey, Junior," and not running an aggressive campaign.  Santorum does, starting in late August.  The race is within the MOE by September 22

Let's look at the full quote:

Casey began running an aggressive campaign in mid September, at the latest; I give him credit for learning from his mistakes of 2002.

Note that I didn't predict a Santorum win even then and I also admitted, at around the same time, that I was undecided.  I really only went into the Santorum column yesterday, though I was leaning in that direction.  I could, up to that point, have switched.

Interestingly, Michael Schiavo was in town yesterday and criticised one of the Senate candidates, Robert Casey, Junior.  It made me see that what I disagree with with Santorum, I also disagree with Casey.  What I agree with with Santorum, I disagree with Casey.

You did predict a Santorum before:

Yes, Casey will win as long as he doesn't rest on his laurels, especially now that Santorum seems to be gaining momentum

I actually think Casey is more in tune with PA as a whole, economically and socially, which is why he'll pull it off. Santorum would see off a stock liberal without too much difficulty

Dave

Casey has no laurels to rest on.

Santorum may not be the best campaigner since Truman, but he is an excellent campaigner.

Casey, on the other hand, main campaign is "I'm Bob Casey's son."  That won't be enough.  Santorum in a squeaker.

Hey, I have to give it to Casey; he ran an aggressive campaign and hit really well.  If it hadn't been for his ad, I would still be a leaner, not a definite, for Santorum.

Casey began launching a good assault in mid to late September.
