Just a question to those predicting a Santorum victory.

When do you think Santorum will take the lead in the polls?

He won't, though of course I'm not predicting a Santorum victory.

Let's just say he wins, BRTD. Do you think you'll be able to fit your foot in your big mouth? I really warn you not to get too cocky about these races.

If he gets a lead, he's not going to give it up. Casey doesn't strike me as someone who can claw back in a race like this, while Santorum is a very good politician and fighter.

Judging by that, I would say Senator Dog Sex is finished.

Couldn't the same be said to those who are "100% sure" he will win?

I'm afraid to say Santorum doesn't much of a chance of winning this. Sorry Man if I disappionted you.

Tweed said it, although I think his wording was "100% certain"

Santorum certainly could win, but given the national tide, he is really swimming upstream. Stranger things have happened, though, but I think he really needs Bush to at least get into the 40's in his approval ratings to have a good shot.

They're wrong, too, but you bring up this cocky attitude more than they do. I'd just be careful about how confident you get especially with who you're talking about.

Uh, I predicted that as of now he'd lose by a comfortable margin so nothing disappointed me with your prediction.

If Santorum ever retakes the lead, it will probably be due to some cataclysmic event. Another 9/11, Casey eating babies, what have you. Thus, should Santorum take the lead, it's impossible really to predict an exact date for when that will occur.

Uh, Santorum has come back in tough campaigns with less drastic events going his way so I don't think he needs to rely on a national tragedy to regain the lead.

Casey does what he did against Rendel in the 2002 primary, and what he seems to be doing now, sitting bake and saying "I'm Bob Casey, Junior," and not running an aggressive campaign. Santorum does, starting in late August. The race is within the MOE by September 22

Also the position of the GOP nationally is pretty poor too and Santorum's attemtps to distance himself from Bush pretty unconvincing... that said there is always a chance, and Santorum is not to be underestimated, but i just dont see how he wins this one.

Actually, another terrorist attack would benefit the Dems by showing that Dubya has actually done nothing for national security and the terrorists are still at large. I pray that there is not another terrorist attack, but if there was, the GOP would lose both houses of Congress and Bush would be impeached.

Also, in regard to the question in the title of the thread, never. I don't think he will win.

Four months after he's been defeated, when people will notice that they never liked Casey in the first place. Wink

Somehow I doubt that will be enough to wish Santorum was back in office talking about the danger Man-Dog Sex. Maybe he can search for Manbearpig after he loses.
