'Cops' may be gone, but 'Law and Order: SVU' and 'NCIS' will likely survive.

If I'm an NBC/CBS executive, I would seriously consider canceling Law and Order SVU/NCIS... especially Law and Order SVU.

As an advisor, I would strongly encourage you not to do it as that would be an overreaction to current events, as well as unnecessary.  You wouldn't want to anger the fan-base, and inspire a backlash that would imperil not just the bottom-line, but also the Black Lives Matter cause, which is I assume why you are considering doing this in the first place.

NCIS probably could survive on the grounds that it's military cops (hence different rules and everything), but I'd argue there really is no place for a Law and Order (or any other show) with a normal police department in the current climate.

I think Black Lives Matter activists would be willing to make an exception for 'Law and Order: SVU' since it is a show that deals with sexually-based offenses.  Why would anyone be offended seeing a rapist or a child molester being sent to prison?

Dude, we're almost to the point where a bank robber shooting at people being killed would mourned.

First off, there's a huge difference between bank robbers and rapists. Second, we're not at that point yet. Generally, we seem to be more willing to forgive the police when the person they shoot is actually shooting at them or someone else.

Hopefully Blue Bloods doesn’t get cancelled

I wouldn't be surprised if it did, and I'd rate it's chances of getting axed at higher than Law and Order: SVU (SVU at least is still getting good ratings, Blue Bloods doesn't seem to be doing very well in comparison.)

It's pretty amazing that so many here can not seem to grasp the difference between this show and shows like Law and Order: SVU, NCIS and Blue Bloods and why those shows are not at risk.

My opinion is that there is no difference. If it has cops, it shouldn't be shown on TV in this climate period, and I hope network executives realize that.

That would be conceding to the radical minority who does demonize cops and it's a ridiculous stance. It'd be conveying all police officers are so evil that they shouldn't even be depicted on screen, which I hope you don't actually advocate.

In this political climate they shouldn't be shown on screen in a positive light. Cops are bad people, in general, and should be treated as such by Hollywood.

See, someone agrees with me on canceling Law and Order: SVU.
