I'm afraid any declaration after February 14 will not be considered for the ballot by the SoFA.

I think Smid, DWTL, jokerman, Ilikeverin and Verily will all have to do write-in campaigns.

Thanks for clarifying, Mr. AG.

I know that by heart, but I was far too lazy to look up when the election is. Smiley

Running a write-in campaign isn't all that hard anyways.

I will run for the Northeastern seat, just because. Long live the King, all glory to the revolution!

Any chance we could swap and you run for Gov and I'll run for Senate? I'd really prefer to operate in the legislature and was holding out for as long as I could before announcing Gov in the hope someone else would nominate.

I don't have any real desire to hold a position of any authority. But, just run for Senate, someone will win the Governor's race on write-ins.

Would've been nice to have gotten my question answered when I asked Wink  Don't blame you for not looking at this thread, though: I never looked either.

Oh well.  Isn't there precedent for putting Lewis's name on the ballot without a running mate?  I'm pretty sure it's been done if a Presidential candidate declares without a Veep, so why not vice-versa?

Sorry.

Lewis declared too late as well. You'd need to start a write-in campaign for both of you.

I think.

Cool. I just chatted with Andrew about it the other week and promised if no one else nominated I'd run for Governor so we didn't see the position vacant. I'll obviously have to run a write-in campaign for Senate, I'm happy to encourage a write-in campaign for you for Governor, and a vote for Andrew.

Like I said, I'm not really interested in Governor, partially because I don't believe in Regional government as practical in the context of Atlasia, particularly in Atlasia's declining numbers. But someone will be. And I'm withdrawing my acceptance of write-in votes for Senate.

The Constitution has this to say.

In order to vote or be a candidate in an election, a person must have been a registered voter on the tenth day before that election. If a voter changes their state of registration in the ten days before the election, the state from which they were originally registered shall be the state from which their vote is cast.

Interestingly, that only means MasterJedi can't vote for himself (as he'll still be voting in the Mideast). I didn't find anything in *law* or the Constitution to forbid him receiving votes, though I may have overlooked something. The candidate regulations state it, of course -

Declarations of candidates who are ineligible for the office shall be null and void. Eligibility shall be determined as of the declaration deadline.

but they've been disobeyed so many times now that I'm not sure I'd trust their word. Is there precedent for this?
