The form is optional and intended to help those who have had difficulty with stating all the needed info in their declarations.  I need some indication of which office one is running for and of whom one is running with from both people on a presidential ticket.  While we haven't had it done much, there is nothing in the law keeping one from running on multiple tickets, or from running for both President and Vice President on different tickets, which is why I am being a bit of a stickler here.
Running for VP on two different tickets just because I can is actually something I'd been wanting to do for months, but the opportunity never arose...

Oh what the hell.

I'm running for Senate in whatever district Washington is in.
3 hours and 42 minutes late. Sorry.

Haha, did anyone else declare in time?

Anyway, can I declare that I will be running as a write-in?
You already have. As has Speed of Sound.

but you also need to announce a running mate with your declaration. And it ain't valid til said running mate declares it's okay with him. Smiley

In case someone's wondering, the filing period officially begins tomorrow.

Btw... there seems to be no special reason for the 21-day time frame (28 days to 7 days before the election) except Ernest's "Regulations". There's no legal reason why the filing period for the next general election can't begin right after the last one's results have been certified.

Therefore, I've decided not to be fascistic about it.
The DoFA recognizes the following candidacies as filed so far

Presidential Tickets
none

President
Al (with Doctor Cynic, if he agrees in this thread)
Keystone Phil (with Afleitch, if he agrees in this thread)

Vice President
none

Senate
-Northeast
TD
-Mideast
BRTD
-Midwest
none
-Southeast
none
-Pacific
none

Jake, the AFRNC's internal processes for picking a Presidential Candidate are none of the DoFA's business.

The filing period ends October 11th, 00:00am Eastern Time.

The Regulations were only intended to state how I was going to do things, not bind future SoFA's if they wanted to so something different.  Anyway, I'm declaring for Northeast Senator myself.
Anything else in your regulations remains in place.

I'll probably put the change up on the wiki in formal language soon.

Btw, when I said the filing period ends with the beginning of the 11th, it was in the mistaken assumption that today is wednesday. :/ The filing period ends with the beginning of the 12th.

Just run in your own district. That way we can be in the Senate together. Wink

In that case, I'll be running, but instead in District 2, as that's my new district.

Who's running in D2?

That would be me, the incumbent, DWTL, however I applaud your courage to run as you were going to rematch Lewis a matchup you just got humiliated in
Well the only vote in that election that wasn't self evident from the start was Preston's.

Okay, it seems all but certain that Brandon H is running for President, so I might as well declare that I am running for Senate in the Midwest.

No, it's the 12th.  The cutoff is always 10 days before the election, and the election begins the 22nd.

What a curious fiction: Please read Section 7 of the CESRA.
Okay, I have:
"Any instance of the word 'candidate' in Sections 1 through to 6 shall be read as "ticket" in the case of Presidential elections." I fail to see the relevance.

I am running for re election in the midwest region.
Just out of courtesy, could you repost this after the december elections? I'm not sure if there's any forum law or precedent about accepting declarations this early.
Thanks in advance. Smiley
