How many fast food runs will there be since Mom and Dad won't be cooking for you this weekend?

Good question.  With his parents gone, this weekend would be the perfect time for him to try cooking something on his own.  But I'm guessing that watching football on TV all day will take a higher priority.

I'm guessing IHOP or McDonald's for breakfast, Subway for lunch, and some place he can get a greasy burger for dinner.

I'll probably have breakfast at home, lunch at home, pizza one night, and maybe a hamburger one night.

I'm sorry, I don't buy that for a minute.  Enjoy Mickey Dees!

Will you cut the grass for you dad while he's gone, or clean up the house for your mom while she's gone?

The thought of Bushie selling life insurance gives me the chills.  In my experience, even pretty good agents really don't know the technical aspects (if it is whole life insurance, or single premium annuity insurance, as opposed to term insurance), and most fold under my withering array of questions. I wonder why he abandoned hawking policies however. Probably because he was unable to sell much. Which is probably a good thing. And then he talks about energy companies. What does that have to do with CAD?

He only sold policies to his parents and granny.......then mayyyyyyyyyybe a church friend or two.  Those are the ones who are his first sales for Ameriscam and all of his other MLM adventures.

The likelihood of me clocking out by age 53 is a little better than most healthy people, I will probably have to get a new policy as I get into my early 50's.  again, I'll have to take a look at my policy to make sure.  I got it now because you just never know when your clock runs out.

But give me a number... estimate what the chance is that you'll die by the age of 53.

99% unless something truly changes, sadly.

As a real licensed (Bushie wasn't licensed) insurance broker for 31 years, I'm enjoying the words of the lifescam agent, Inks.  Please let him continue.

Changing subjects, but I should end up with about 1,550 calories today.  My dinner was one serving of chicken and rice casserole, green beans, roll, and one piece of chocolate cake for dessert.

What did you eat for lunch? Why are you eating chocolate cake when your family is diabetic? I must know!

They laugh at diabetes. See my signature. And his licensing was a sham. Trust me Bushie didn't do the work required.  They arranged it for him.

Dude, I call the United States of America as a whole 'The Bad Place', not St. Louis (a place which is certainly not unusually bad compared to other parts of the Bad Place).  When that policy was purchased - in the late 1960s - my father was making money so quickly and easily I'm sure he hardly noticed the expense.  And all because of demand-push unionized inflationary Keynesian economics.  So, while I thank dad for that kind thought, I really thank Keynes and LBJ for making it possible.

I am most impressed that you so skillfully segued from financial pornography to the matter of the perimeters of Mordor to a gushing paean to Keynesian economics, all in just one pithy little paragraph. It is interesting that immediately following that so called glorious economic era as to which you tender such encomiums, the US went into the economic dumps until The Gipper came riding in on his white horse (with in real dollar terms the worst performance of both bonds and equities in US history, and that includes the Great Depression). You actually in real dollar terms from say 1966 to 1982 would have lost money. Why did it all fall apart? Well another time perhaps. I did not mean this to segue, to use that word again, until such heavy lifting into the mysteries of macro-economics. And it's Miller Time to boot here on the Gold Coast, where seemingly everyone has fancy cars but me, and everyone including me of a certain age has had a face life, where gyms are more common than churches, and fats live in other zip codes.

A mother-รucking Lexus isn't fancy??

(but thanks for the compliment)

He also has an army of brown servants at his beck and call......yeah, he's fine.

What happens is I figure up my bills, how much I'll need, and then I send a request to Mom who controls the finances of the family and she sends me the requested amount on Dad's paydays.

Like an inter-office memo request?  I'd love to know the mechanics of how that works.

Our Dear Friend's assertion that he had no time for a part time job is simply a bald face lie. There is no desire or ambition to get one.  Other than another kiddy party today he could have put in 8-10 hours easily.  Same with tomorrow.  It's Laziness 101 that Bushie has a doctorate in.

Excellent, then, Bushie. I found that what helped me go through the most difficult jobs I had was a larger goal. Back then it was moving to Australia to marry and now it's to live comfortably with my partner. Perhaps the promise of Kenya will inspire you every single day to work hard even if it means missing out on the little immediacies that feel important but are not very urgent in the long run.

But Tik you were willing to do whatever it took. There is no evidence, except to the contrary that Bushie will do what it takes.

I didn't post my anti-abortion rant on here.  No reason, really, just that I didn't feel like it.

I'm not going to address Duke's post.  I don't feel like getting into a debate about it.

Of course you won't debate it here with others who may disagree. So you post your rant on fb where your sanctimonious friends can all agree with you. Except jamestroll   Lol.

Morden, I spend about 35-40 hours a week on CADD, inside and outside the classroom.

Plenty of time left to earn a couple hundred a week at a part time job.  Have you no shame, man?

But then he'd have to miss out on the 10-20 hours per week he spends making love on children!

He needs to ease the burden on his family, even if they're making it without it, it would definitely ease the burden.  It's shameful not to help.

No shame.  See my dialogue with Inks from last night for reasons why.

These ministries, a church website, bible study, and wednesday night don't bring in a dime.  Helping your family needs to be your first priority, not what you want to do.  And you still have more time than anyone I know to do absolutely nothing.

I remember the days I worked 6AM til 2PM at one job, then 9PM to 2AM at another job to make ends meet. You just do it........and forget about the volunteer bullsh**t.

Who cares about the cruise scam.. it sounds like he was offered some open buffet cruise where they could go anytime and anywhere for $800 and took it, and it ended up not being a real thing.

Let's hear more and encourage him to go after Allison. It will give him something to do!

He'll be in even more debt.  I may be critical of him, but at least I offer rational advice.  Pursuing a girlfriend (or anything that will increase his spending) is not what he should be doing right now.

Better he spend it on her than on other frivolous things. His parents give him money. He may as well use it to potentially make himself happier and build a life of his own.

But he won't substitute the spending that he does now for money on his girlfriend.  He'll just ask for more money.  And if somehow he does get his $40,000/year job, we've already established that he won't have much (if any) money to live on, so having a girlfriend without his parents subsidizing him could lead to increased credit card debt.

Damn man, go away if you're going to pooh pooh the good story lines.  K?  Thx.

I'm hoping he calls her on his lunch break, as long as he doesn't have a moutful of food when he calls, of course.

no offense torie or opebo, no one reading this gives a damn about your car buying habits.

Sheesh, Mitty.  Torie cares about my car buying habits, and I care about his.  So, that's not 'no one'.  You don't have to read every post.

I  have to agree.  It's far superior to Inks' drivel.

Having a few old beaters isn't a sign of being 'well-off'.

They just bought a brand new car.

and I'd still like to hear about the financing they used to pay for it, how much money down, etc.

my guess is very little money down.  interest payments are probably sky high.  and i bet they got it financed at the car lot rather than at a bank or credit union.

Its a new car, so those usually come with very low interest financing, no?

0-4% usually.
