To think that humble Georgia could end up being Trump's Waterloo in so many ways...

The Eastman news is huge for sure, but this also seems pretty important:

Jared apparently testified for over six hours and committee member Elaine Luria indicated that his testimony was useful.

Even Trump can see it.  McCarthy could have sabotaged the investigation from the get-go ostensibly in the name of 'bipartisanship', and smothered it before it ever got to this stage.  Oh well, too late now.

Congressional leadership has made no secret of their disdain for Trump.

I'm not sure how capable McCarthy is of playing 4-D chess, but I wonder if he decided to let Pelosi unilaterally call the shots so Dems (plus Cheney and Kinzinger) could do the dirty work of getting Trump out of the picture.

I'm guessing this is J6-related:

Wasn’t he on the pardons list?

Yeah. It was Perry, MTG, Gaetz, Brooks, Gohmert and Biggs. I'd also keep an eye on Boebert, Cawthorn and Jordan.

That smells like a 🧦 but Republicans had an opportunity to have members on the committee and they chose not to.
They chose five member and Pelosi rejected Banks and Jordan. Why didn’t the other 3 stay on the commission?

McCarthy pulled them.

SIX UNNAMED CO-CONSPIRATORS:

a. Co-Conspirator 1, an attorney who was willing to spread knowingly false claims and pursue strategies that the Defendant's 2020 re-election campaign attorneys would not

b. Co-Conspirator 2, an attorney who devised and attempted to implement a strategy to leverage the Vice President’s ceremonial role overseeing certification proceeding to obstruct the certification of the presidential election.

c. Co-Conspirator 3, an attorney whose unfounded claims of election fraud the Defendant privately acknowledged to others sounded "crazy." Nonetheless, the Defendant embraced and publicly amplified Co-Conspirator 3's disinformation.

d. Co-Conspirator 4, a Justice Department official who worked on civil matters and who, with the Defendant, attempted to use the Justice Department to open sham election crime investigations and influence state legislatures with knowingly false claims of election fraud.

e. Co-Conspirator 5, an attorney who assisted in devising and attempting to implement a plan to submit fraudulent slates of presidential electors to obstruct the certification proceeding.

f. Co-Conspirator 6, a political consultant who helped implement a plan to submit fraudulent slates of presidential electors to obstruct the certification proceeding.

2 is probably Eastman. I think 5 may be Kenneth Chesebro. 1 and 3 are almost certainly Rudy and Powell, but it's a bit hard to tell which one is which.

Pretty sure 3 is Powell.

Yeah, reading the full indictment makes it pretty clear that 1 is Rudy and 3 is Powell. 4 is obviously Clark. People here speculated that 6 is Roger Stone, but others have said it's Boris Epshteyn.

Smith made a terrible mistake in not trying the case in DC. Being "fair" to Trump is never worth it, no matter the optics.

Unfortunately I think the case had to be tried in Florida because that's where the crime happened.
