why does a north-south divide exist in Portugal, as seen most evidently in election results in relatively closer to 50-50 elections?

I really like the results site which compares current results to 2019 results IN THE voting areas that has been counted.  Just awesome

I think if it's not very very close, he has to go.
Do you mean "very very close" between the two parties, or between the two blocs? I expect you mean the former, but I want to be sure.
