So George, pal, you don't think criminals would get handguns or something more dangerous if they were made illegal? Would every criminal apologize, give his gun up to the police, and become a good citizen? Or would they step up criminal attacks, especially muggings and armed robberies knowing that as long as the police can't respond in time, they'll be unopposed?

That is the same bull sh**t excuse Liberals make when talking about Drugs, "Bad people are going to do it anyway, make it Legal."

That is true in some aspects. That is why I call for the full legalization of marijuana. Hard drugs should be cracked down on however. But I do think that Heroin/Cocaine should be used for medical purpose if/where practical.

LOL

Except drug use is a choice an individual makes that physically only affects themselves. Keeping guns out of everyone's hands but the police and criminals means innocent people dying unnecessarily. Maybe remove yourself from the fantasy world you're in and realize that armed citizens are able to protect themselves better than the police against rapists, muggers, and robbers. Violent crime with guns is solved one way, licensed concealed carry almost everywhere. Not by taking away everyone's guns but the police, army, and criminals.

Gay marriage:  Er...support does it I guess. I see no reason why not, I do think it's right and all. It's just not that much of a priority for me...and I don't care whether they actually call it marriage.
Abortion:  Everybody strongly opposes abortions. What exactly are you asking for? Legality of abortion? Somewhat support.
Legalized gambling:  Support.
Prostitution:  Strongly Support. Again, I assume you mean legality of prostitution.
Prayer in school:  Strongly Oppose if it's organized; Support if it's individual. (Notice: I clipped the misleading "voluntary". Organized prayer may still be voluntary.)
School uniforms:  Strongly oppose. I wouldn't send my kid to a school that had any.
Drug legalization:  Strongly Support on Marijuana etc. Strongly Support decriminalization on Opiates, but mind not made up legalization.
Gun control:  Sorta-kinda-support / Depends on exact issue, there's lots of gun control measures I strongly oppose, though not for the same reasons as the gun nuts.
Affirmative action:  Support.
Speed limits:  Strongly Support.
Death penalty:  Strongly Oppose.
Mandatory minimum sentencing:  Strongly Oppose.

You mean you don't support legalization or you don't 'support' in the sense of patronizing them?

If you're against legalization, how does that fit into your generally libertarian ideology?

I suppose I strongly oppose patronizing them in a moral sense, and in a political sense, I merely oppose the legalization (but not "strongly," as I do not feel strongly about the issue).  Although I do oppose it for moral reasons, there are a lot of health risks involved in the legalization; if the government were to regulate it in order to alleviate these risks, the regulation would cancel out the legalization and it would be just another beaurocratic waste of time.

I disagree.  Guns serve a purpose (the right to self-defense).

You don't find sex a valid purpose?  It is right up there with eating, sleeping, and defecating as natural parts of one's physical existence.

gay marriage  - strongly support, we don´t have it here in Austria but what´s the problem with it ? What is the opponents fear ?

abortion - personally oppose it, but respect individual choice

legalized gambling - support

prostitution - support - why not ? should be a normal job with paying taxes incl.

prayer in school - oppose - we did it in elementary school, but what if there are Muslim, Bhuddist, Hindu or atheist students in the class ? no way of supporting it

school uniforms - oppose - personal choice is more important to me

drug legalization - oppose - legal drinking and smoking age 18

gun control - strongly support - no weapons should be able to be sold under 18, obligatory psychological and handling test for the customer, obligatory safety measures at home for the storage of the purchased weapons and control of the police 1 time a year.

affirmative action - what is that ?

speed limits - support - 60 on normal roads and 80 mph on highways as we have it here in Austria

death penalty - strongly oppose - a medieval appendix in my opinion, revenge doesn´t solve problems.

mandatory minimum sentencing - oppose
