Weird how Arkansas is the only state in the Deep South whose state GOP is not completely Tea Party-dominated...

Has to be Hillary Clinton's 2016 coattails.  They're so powerful, that they reverberate back in time to 2013.

In a sense: Arkansas Republicans still fear fickle conservative historically democrat voters more than they fear the far right.

Scott Garrett's vote in favor of the shutdown only increases my suspicion that he'll be replaced by a Democrat by the end of the decade.
No, Garrett has the seat as long as he wants it. He will just be replaced by another Republican when he retires.
