The rights to the national anthem should be auctioned off every Presidential term. Imagine how beautiful it'd be to see new citizens singing a corporate jingle in their citizenship ceremony. Brings tears to my eyes what this country could become.

I have long favored a move towards "Battle Hymn of the Republic" so every man, woman, and child can be constantly reminded of God and Sherman crushing the rebels in the name of Union and Liberty, Forever.

Mine eyes have seen the poster who's named like a Spanish bank,
He is searching out the posts for whom BRTD's to thank,
We will flush Trump's ideology into a septic tank,
All liberal, all the time!

Glory, glory, Hallelujah!
Glory, glory, Hallelujah!
Glory, glory, Hallelujah!
All liberal, all the time!

No, definitely not.  However, I wouldn't complain if we found more reasons to play The Battle Hymn of the Republic ... epic song.

I'm in the same boat. The Star Spangled Banner is perfectly fine. But if the national anthem was changed, The Battle Hymn of the Republic is the best replacement. It makes you think of what America is supposed to be: a nation with liberty and justice for all, a nation based on freedom on a moral crusade against the forces of tyranny, a nation that is an example for others to follow, the 'shining city on hill'.

America is a meme created by the 18th-century version of the alt-right.
