These are the suggestions I have heard. I may be forgetting one or two that I have heard suggested and many other songs come to mind but I won't make this list very long.

Keep the Star Spangled Banner, but use all four verses, and use the 1861 lyrics.

Absolutely not. It's a great national anthem. The fact that a movement which pretty directly holds American history and traditions in disdain dislikes it is only a sign to me that it is the right song to be national anthem.

Great options. I think I like them all better than the current song, I've never heard of Stand by Me as a national anthem but it sounds great and very unique! But I'm partial to This Land

Despite having several different versions of stanzas after the first, if we do change, I favor this three stanza version of America the Beautiful.

O beautiful for spacious skies,
For amber waves of grain,
For purple mountain majesties
Above the fruited plain!
America! America!
God shed His grace on thee
And crown thy good with brotherhood
From sea to shining sea!

O beautiful for heroes proved
In liberating strife,
Who more than self their country loved
And mercy more than life!
America! America!
God mend thine every flaw,
Confirm thy soul in self-control,
Thy liberty in law!

O beautiful for patriot dream
That sees beyond the years
Thine alabaster cities gleam
Undimmed by human tears!
America! America!
God shed His grace on thee
And crown thy good with brotherhood
From sea to shining sea!

I think the big problem with it, is that it’s difficult to sing: weird archaic lyrics and giant intervals in pitch. The ideal national anthem should be a crowd singalong, not an opportunity for a preening soloist to show off.

I prefer America the Beautiful or Battle Hymn of the Republic.

Yes, because it's hard to sing (even for professionals!) and the incident it describes is no longer really significant in the popular memory. I've always been super partial to Battle Hymn of the Republic as a replacement.

Change it to My Country Tis Of Thee, and wait to see the ensuing confusion upon its instrumental playing at international events.

Yes.  I don't like the pitch intervals mentioned above.  Also the thing with solos.  I get musical creativity, but sometimes something should be played/sung as written.

We should switch to Hail Columbia.  That is a better song.

The rights to the national anthem should be auctioned off every Presidential term. Imagine how beautiful it'd be to see new citizens singing a corporate jingle in their citizenship ceremony. Brings tears to my eyes what this country could become.

No, and we should begin using all four verses plus the 5th verse from 1861.

Failing that, Hail Columbia is the next best option, followed by the Battle Hymn of the Republic. I like Rise Columbia too, but it's a ripoff of Rule Britannia.

Yes, to This Land Is Your Land, original 1940s version by Woodie Guthrie.

Quote
This land is your land, this land is my land
From California to the Staten New York Island,
From the Redwood Forest, to the Gulf stream waters,
God blessed America for me.
[This land was made for you and me.]

As I went walking that ribbon of highway
And saw above me that endless skyway,
And saw below me the golden valley, I said:
God blessed America for me.
[This land was made for you and me.]

I roamed and rambled, and followed my footsteps
To the sparkling sands of her diamond deserts,
And all around me, a voice was sounding:
God blessed America for me.
[This land was made for you and me.]

Was a big high wall there that tried to stop me
A sign was painted said: Private Property,
But on the back side it didn't say nothing —
God blessed America for me.
[This land was made for you and me.]

When the sun come shining, then I was strolling
In wheat fields waving and dust clouds rolling;
The voice was chanting as the fog was lifting:
God blessed America for me.
[This land was made for you and me.]

One bright sunny morning in the shadow of the steeple
By the Relief Office I saw my people —
As they stood hungry, I stood there wondering if
God blessed America for me.
[This land was made for you and me.]

I'm a fan of the other verses but are we really about to have a ten minute national anthem?

I really don't get what people don't like about The Star-Spangled Banner. It's a perfectly good anthem.
