HP. I've never been able to understand why Canadians keep on returning him to office every election. He's the Canadian version of Gavin Newsom.
Newsom got single-payer healthcare into SF and pioneered LGBTQ Marriage when only Massachusetts had it legal.
Not sure Trudeau's changed anything at all.
You're right about Newsom's role in promoting the emergence of marriage equality, but in many other respects, Newsom and Trudeau are similar. Both come across as entitled, wine-track liberals who are not particularly competent, who are "youthful" in their appearance, and who have somehow been able to fool their respective electorates into reelecting them.
