Only Rick Perry could push for ignoring the legitimate outcome in a state that Trump actually won.  (The states he mentioned in the text are Georgia, Pennsylvania, ....and North Carolina.)

81-year-old US Capitol rioter sentenced to three years of probation.

An 81-year-old Army veteran was sentenced to three years of probation on Tuesday for illegally breaching the US Capitol on January 6.
Gary Wickersham, one of the oldest of more than 700 people facing charges related to the Capitol riot, will also have to pay a $2,000 fine and $500 for damage done to the building.

Here is another one.
He should consider himself lucky with just probation.

Amusing bit:

Quote
Judge Royce Lamberth, 78, who noted that Wickersham is "the first defendant I've had that's older than me in quite some time."

Predictably, Perry has declined to cooperate voluntarily.  The question now is whether the committee will attempt to subpoena a fellow member of Congress.

Have they ever done so in the past?

Not that I know of, but I wouldn't swear that there never have been.  I know that some staff members of sitting Congressmen have been subpoenaed in the past and testified.

The House select committee investigating the January 6 riot issued a subpoena Tuesday for Rudy Giuliani, a central figure in former President Donald Trump's failed bid to overturn the 2020 election on the basis of unfounded allegations of widespread voter fraud.

In addition to Giuliani, the committee issued subpoenas to two other attorneys who pushed various election fraud conspiracies on Trump's behalf: Jenna Ellis and Sidney Powell.

Former Trump campaign adviser Boris Epshteyn, who was among those working with Giuliani at the post-election Willard Hotel "command center," was also subpoenaed Tuesday.

"The four individuals we've subpoenaed today advanced unsupported theories about election fraud, pushed efforts to overturn the election results, or were in direct contact with the former President about attempts to stop the counting of electoral votes," Democratic Rep. Bennie Thompson of Mississippi, who chairs the committee, said in a statement Tuesday.

It will be interesting to see if Trump says anything about this publicly.

Not specifically January 6, but one of the investigations into Trump's efforts to steal the election:

Fulton County (GA) DA requests special grand jury for Trump probe

Apparently Trump had children as senior White House advisors. Explains a lot.

Ivanka is 40 years old.  It's not like she's an innocent young child.

I don’t see how that undermines Heaphy’s work for the J6 committee. The AG can’t stop him from continuing to work for them.

The special grand jury has been approved by a panel of Fulton County judges and will be impaneled on May 2.  Link

Some past reports have suggested that Short was very much not a fan of Trump, so I'm sure he held nothing back from the committee.

How about not derailing this thread into a rehash of the Mueller investigation?

Both memos were responses by the state legal departments to questions from Fann and Vos about whether they could change the selection method after the election.  Both responses provide very clear reasons why such an after-the-fact change would not be possible.

If the name Karen Fann sounds familiar, she's the Arizona State Senate President who was the prime mover behind the woefully inept "audit" of the election in that state by the Cyber Ninjas.

The guy who was photographed at Nancy Pelosi's desk in her office has a trial date: Beginning September 6. https://www.nwahomepage.com/news/trial-date-set-for-richard-barnett

Is this the first case to go to trial instead of being plea bargained? Hope they can get this guy hard, I've read his charges could add up to 20 years.

There are trials scheduled as early as this month.  This looks like the first one:

Quote
The first trial, set to begin on Feb. 24, will focus on Robert Gieswein of Colorado, a self-proclaimed militiaman charged with assaulting officers with a chemical spray.

It's amusing how Navarro thinks going on TV helps his case.

Giuliani in Talks to Testify to House Jan. 6 Panel

Maybe Trump will end up regretting not paying Rudy.
