Unfortunately it hardy matter since he's very likely to become speaker a year from now anyway.

Water is wet... it's obvious he enjoyed what happened that day. It just won't change single mind in this country.

It's amusing how Navarro thinks going on TV helps his case.

The bolded part is exactly the problem.

That tape is probably the end of Kevin McCarthy's hope for the Speakership next January.

Even without, it was always a longshot. I'm predicting Scalise as speaker.

Amazingly, this isn't even in the top 3 craziest things said by speakers at the rally for Kandiss Taylor, the bat**** insane candidate for Georgia governor.  Check out Ron's twitter feed for some more doozies.

If that was actually true, wouldn't Trump have been a total failure in not preventing it? He was still prez on January 6 and before when the "left" supposedly plotted this.

There's definitely not going to be anything before the midterms. Longstanding DOJ policy is to not announce anything politically toxic in the runup to an election.

So during the lame duck session?

The committee definitely carry into the next congress because a GOP majority will immediately shut any investigations down and open phony investigations into Biden with single purpose of taking him down in 2024.

Let's be honest, why would she make this up? And in turn, why would he make this up to tell her this story?

It's more likely that any SS agents are likely trying to cover up for Trump.

Why would she make this up and make herself a target for the worst elements of society?

Truly the actions of an innocent man!

Just hope this won't drag on for months and quickly gets thrown out the window. If Graham actually faces legal consequences, he should resign from the senate right away.

Trump would never testify, just not happening. Pence? Very unlikely. Wouldn't rule it out completely though.

Really no surprise the usual suspects, meaning a number of blue avatars, stay entirely away from this thread.

Garland really needs to indict the orange buffoon now.

Do we have any word when DoJ will make a final decision about Trump? When will we know whether he'll be indicted or not? Really growing impatient with Garland.

Speaking of Scott Perry...

FBI delivers subpoenas to several Pa. Republican lawmakers

Quote
At least some of the individuals receiving subpoenas were told they were not targets of an investigation, according to at least six sources reached by PennLive, but that they may have information of interest to the FBI. All of the sources had been briefed on the investigative moves in some way, but demanded anonymity in order to discuss them.

The information being requested centered around U.S. Rep. Scott Perry, R-Pa., and the effort to seek alternate electors as part of former President Donald Trump’s efforts to remain in office after the 2020 election, several sources said.

I can foresee very ugly congressional hearings for Chris Wray should the GOP retake the House. Perhaps they even attempt to impeach him.

Next week will not be the final hearing after all:

Part of a longer thread with much more from Cheney, well worth reading.

Liz is voting for Biden in 2024.

Not sure unless it's a rematch and Trump is the nominee. She'll not vote for him, that's for certain.

Did the part of "Antifa" in his statement, sound like something Fuzzy helped him to write?

Doubtful, because BLM would also have been mentioned.

Mike Pence won’t appeal ruling ordering him to testify in special counsel probe, spokesman says

Quote
Mike Pence will not appeal a federal court ruling ordering him to testify in a special counsel probe into efforts by Donald Trump and his allies to subvert the 2020 election, a spokesman for the former vice president said Wednesday, teeing up a historic moment in both the special counsel’s investigation and for the presidency.

Pence is poised to recount for the first time under oath his direct conversations with Trump leading up to January 6, 2021, when Trump pressured him unsuccessfully to block the 2020 election’s result and may have been acting corruptly, according to sources who have explained the judge’s ruling.

A date for Pence’s grand jury appearance is not yet known.

A former vice president has never before complied with a criminal probe subpoena to testify about the actions of a then-president, putting Pence in a position to define the powers of his former office.

I'm kind of surprised that isn't talked more in general. Seems to be a huge deal and something that could put in much bigger trouble than Bragg's indictment.

Do you mean Mike Pence's testimony or the January 6th investigation in general? I think most people acknowledge the latter has potentially far more severe consequences for Trump than anything Bragg might get on him. If the former, potentially? Yes, Trump had some phone conversations with Pence on and leading up to January 6th, but Pence was never really part of Trump's Inner Circle of consigliaries, so I wonder how likely it is that Trump would have solicited Pence to do something outright criminal rather than expounding upon utter BS pseudo constitutional arguments of how he could disregard / overrule the Congressional certification which, while again utter and complete nonsense, is arguably not Criminal solicitation.

I actually mean both. Or Pence's testimony could make a Trump indictment on said charges more likely. The DOJ needs high-profile witnesses who talk about what happened behind the scenes in order to convict the orange buffoon.
