I love when a panicking political machine rightfully fearing the imminent collapse of one of its most potent strategic advantages enters a constant state of dumbassery like, oh Idk, highlighting for the federal judge who'll consider its fate in just 48 hrs. when exactly their associative primary process clearly crosses the line into unconstitutionally illegal unfairness:

Morris was also today but no results 'til Monday:

Atlantic Dem convention tmrw!

It’s a bit rich to hear about bad faith attacks, when that’s frankly what this entire campaign has been. I have grown sick of it already, and also grown sick at the implicit assumptions that anyone who supports Murphy is a fake Democrat or whatever. I will be voting for her, and I wish people would actually listen to what she’s saying instead of just talking about her in the context of being The Line candidate.

I’ve listened to what she’s saying, and it’s mostly claiming endorsements from people who don’t support her, threatening college students, and spreading falsehoods about her opponent.

Won’t a poll tax hurt Murphy here? Her support in Atlantic is mainly low-income minorities in Atlantic City and Pleasantville, two of the poorest communities in the county.

The poll tax could effectively hurt Murphy to the extent that the presumed enthusiasm gap for Kim shows up, but on-paper, its very existence is a practical declarant of truth as to what the lawsuit asserts is the process' fundamental unfairness:

NJ's AG view's the county line to be unconstitutional and won't defend it in court.

The New Jersey AG is appointed by the governor. So this is big big news, Murphy’s appointed AG is going against Murphy’s wife.

If you ask me, Tammy Murphy isn't going anywhere, line or no. The line is not some magical device. If my understanding is right, Phil Murphy had the line everyone in 2017 and didn't get a majority. Bob Menendez had the line and got only 62% against a no-name challenger. Maybe I'm completely off the mark but I see Kim winning this primary with relative ease regardless of whether or not the line survives a test in court, especially given all the awful press Tammy Murphy has received. Also worth noting that Kim has had enough establishment support to win the line in a few places.

"Linen-item veto" is one of the better typos I've seen recently.

The state AG's office is also moving to withdraw as an intervenor in the 2020 merits Line lawsuit still pending in discovery.

The letter comes as sources anticipate Quraishi imminently ruling against the line in Kim et al. v. Hanlon, a lawsuit filed by U.S. Senate candidate Andy Kim, questioning the justice of New Jersey’s county party line ballot system.

Can we please get a thread title update again once the line ruling has been handed down? At this rate of Menendez updates, the title is going to be "NJ-SEN 2024 (Update: Menendez spotted at McDonald's in East Orange)". Tongue

I have not been following the primary too closely, but is there a significant chance that Fulop and others rescind their endorsements of Murphy?
