Also, you Republicans should keep in mind that, assuming all the Thurmond voters would have voted for Taft, the Republicans and Socialists would have tied.

I'm pretty sure a good chunk of the Thurmond voters, of possibly even the majority, would have support Truman over Taft.

That's 24 votes for the Republicans, 22 votes for everyone else. Now can you please stop whining about how the Socialists and liberals and whatnot have total dominance and wah wah wah just because they won an election.
