Not a surprise, but it's good to have them publicly confirm it.

Hopefully this will calm down the Twitterers who are worried about the recently released memo around investigations of presidential candidates.

Several notable mentions of Congress’s “official proceeding” from Kinzinger…

They’ve done a good job laying out Trump’s total inaction and even refusal to carry out his duties as president.

Him refusing the call from the Department of Defense seems like a big deal.

As well as calling senators to ask them to delay the certification while the mob was attacking.

Why would knowing the fake electors were fake and trying to have them counted anyway be better for Trump? That seems like conspiracy to defraud the United States to me.

I think it’s debatable to unlikely that Trump acted with the goal of the attack happening. But he certainly didn’t care whether it did or not, had good reason to suspect that it would (the crowd was armed and wanted to march on the Capitol), and supported it while it was happening.

Unsure if this is January 6 related, but Mar-a-Lago was apparently raided by the FBI today.

I'm guessing this is J6-related:

Wasn’t he on the pardons list?

Eh, he still doesn’t have to testify about his phone calls with Raffensperger.

Cheney clearly knows more about the behind-the-scenes of the Congressional GOP between the election and January 6th than she wants to let on. I wish she'd name names and tell the constituents of whoever this what their Rep actually thinks. What has she got to lose?

Yeah, at this point if she doesn’t name names this is basically the same useless crap we’ve been hearing for six years. “XYZ number of senators would love to convict Trump but are afraid” who are they??? You have no future in the Republican Party! None! Just tell us!

Why’d they stop the hearings to resume in the fall, only to have one hearing? Did they not get the evidence they would have liked from the Secret Service?

Clarence Thomas was ‘key’ to a plan to delay certification of 2020 election, Trump lawyers said in emails

Quote
A lawyer for former President Donald Trump described Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas as “key” to Trump’s plan to delay Congress’ certification of President Joe Biden’s victory through litigation after the 2020 election, according to emails recently turned over to the House select committee investigating January 6.

“We want to frame things so that Thomas could be the one to issue” a temporary order putting Georgia’s results in doubt, Trump attorney Kenneth Chesebro wrote in a December 31, 2020, email, adding that a favorable order from Thomas was their “only chance” to hold up Congress from counting electoral votes for Biden from Georgia.

John Eastman, another attorney for Trump, responded to that email saying he agreed with the plan. In the email exchanges with several other lawyers working on Trump’s legal team, they were discussing filing a lawsuit that they hoped would result in an order that “TENTATIVELY” held that Biden electoral votes from Georgia were not valid because of election fraud.

Having a case pending in front of the Supreme Court, Chesebro wrote, would be enough to prevent the Senate from counting Biden’s electors.

Impeach and remove him now.

(Plus Rhodes guilty of seditious conspiracy as emailking posted earlier.)

Guilty of obstruction but not conspiracy to obstruct - so the Oathkeepers just decided to spontaneously try and overturn the election results?

From what I've seen, it appears that the various milita leadership deliberately.kept their own "foot soldiers" out of the loop on the larger conspiracy. And if they did keep them informed, the DoJ failed to prove it to the jury's satisfaction.

Sure, but that’s more for the footsoldiers, not leaders like Rhodes.

This upsets me greatly.
It is a ceremony not only honoring specific members but all of them, and they go and act like a bunch of a$$holes.
I mean honestly ... if they have some kind of grievance/problem with anyone there, they need to express that elsewhere and not during the ceremony. Actually, they are adults ... For those that knew (in advance) that they could not control themselves, they should have not gone and excused themselves from attendance.

This article  (https://www.newsweek.com/former-jan-6-officer-mocked-dc-police-medal-ceremony-disgrace-1765139)  says:

Fanone's old co-workers also called him a disgrace and criticized him because he "was not a cop anymore."      ....they said he didn't belong at the ceremony.

Do these officers also believe that military personnel that are injured physically and/or mentally in war theaters, unworthy of being honored (because they are no longer in the service)?

In this MSNBC tv commentary video, one of the guest speakers says the police chief should order an internal affairs investigation on who was saying these things and why. And in my opinion, they should face disciplinary actions for their idiotic behavior.

It’s a cultural thing. They love violence and the untrammeled wielding of power.

Talking Points Memo has unearthed a trove of leaked texts between Mark Meadows and 34 Congressional Republicans (including all the big names on the far right and more), discussing their attempts to overturn the election results from the days after the election up to right before Biden was inaugurated.

Being unpopular to some people forever in certain segments of the community? My doomer senses think this might mean fewer charges than expected…

No, it's just saying that whatever charges she decides to bring or not bring, some part of the community will hate her for it.  Here's the full quote:

Quote
[Former DeKalb County DA Robert] James, who lost his reelection bid a few years later, said regardless of what the Fulton grand jurors decide, Willis will need to follow the evidence and her ethical obligations.

“What DA Willis is going to have to understand is that whatever she does, some folks are going to be extremely unhappy with her,” he said. “Once you pull this trigger and start this process, you have to be resigned that you’re going to be unpopular, perhaps to some people forever in certain segments of your community.

Wise…
