Strange number of Twitter cultists shouting about libel and exciting themselves with talk of legal action. Not like anything's untrue. The "it was a one-off mistake!" excuses are very funny in hindsight.

The leadership campaign has quite seriously lowered my opinion of the British right, who I used to think would have the good sense to reject Truss. Not only are most of them little more than the 'intolerant liberals' they decry their enemies as, the social conservatives among them have thrown themselves into enthusiastic support of someone who left the Lib Dems because they weren't approved as a candidate fast enough.

Apart from a couple of faux social conservative MPs, I don't see much enthusiasm for Truss among non-liberal Tory members. That's probably why she didn't do so well in the membership vote. She was lucky she was up against Sunak.

No, I do not wish to hear the opinions of Jeremy Corbyn on the war in Ukraine, no I do not wish to hear the opinions of Liz Truss on the economy, and, frankly, I'm not sure what the justification is for any sort of media attention on either.

It's always helpful to remind the electorate of the mistakes they've made in ever voting for certain politicians...

Clearly not the most joyous of days, but the...'theatrics' of Police Scotland; the tent in the garden, the dozen officers to carry out a few small boxes hasn't gone unnoticed.

Is that the best the Cybernats can come up with?

Remember folks, this has absolutely nothing to do with Nicola resigning as First Minister, no siree...

Funny result from Lord Ashcroft's survey given New Zealanders are also negative about the direction of our country and have the same complaints that Brits do. I think we do know it is worse in the UK, and politically our government is not as toxic as the Tories are.

For most Brits NZ is just Middle Earth with added sheep, so it has an imagined bucolic charm that is lost here.

Can it be arranged that they all lose in the General Election?

If Labour's elected officials are being harassed then that is a policing matter. Parliament doesn't have to placate Labour's Islamist following by submitting to their demands.

And it’s plain that Stephen Flynn doesn’t care about the people of Gaza, and that he’s teamed up with Sunak

Is it? That's quite a proposition. One where people can't believe genuine things, and everything is calculated and expedient.

If he cared about the people of Gaza he’d:

1. Want the war to end and the people to be free, that means Hamas laying down their weapons and being removed from power
2. Want to work with Labour who have almost the exact same position rather than playing pointless games
3. Want the focus to be on them not on him throwing a fit at Lindsay Hoyle over some arcane procedure no one cares about

He is a grasping cynic quite plainly willing to use the people of Gaza as props in his ultimately futile campaign to hold on to the SNP’s position as largest party in Scotland in the next GE.

The vote was for an immediate ceasefire. Not an end to the war. Israel can take out military targets in a manner that doesn't flatten Gaza, kill thousands and leave people effectively starving.

A military expert speaks.

The Speaker of the HoC of the United Kingdom is claiming he felt that if he didn't include
Labour's motion then he believed MPs may be killed or parliament itself may be attacked. Good to know we can get what we want if we just harass, intimidate, and threaten violence toward MPs.

The mistake wasn't just simply the decision to include Labour's motion, it was the fact that if things are as serious as the Speaker claims then why did he not inform parliament immediately of this subversion of our democracy?

This has opened Pandora's box, the situation is going to go downhill rather quickly.
