Ksenia Sobchak is running against Putin in the presidential election as an independent candidate. She has criticized Putin on many issues but some believe that she was chosen by the Kremlin to stand as a token opposition candidate as Aleksei Navalny, the most prominent opposition politician, was not allowed to run.
