People that suggest otherwise have a similar level of understanding of Russian politics that tankies who think China is still Communist do of that country.
There are several different versions of what I call Schrodinger's China:
Tankies/Maoists:
When China is better at something than the US/West, it's because China has remained a Marxist Leninist Utopia true to the PRC's founding principles. When China is worse at something than the US/West, it's because China has deviated from the true path set by Mao and embraced Capitalism, becoming a deformed worker's state.
Traditional Conservatives:
When China is better at something than the US/West, it's because China has fully embraced capitalism. When China is worse at something than the US/West, it's because China is still Communist.
Alt-Rightists/Fascists:
When China is better at something than the US/West, it's because China is a homogenous ethnostate which practices Eugenics and uses the one-child policy to breed super-babies. When china is worse at something than the US/West, it's because China has too much cultural diversity and it's actually Japan that will dominate the 21st Century.
