I bet DWTL and CARLHAYDEN think so.

Basically laws like this:

-Any business with a sign in Spanish must also have it in English, and above it and much larger than the Spanish.
-No one in a restaurant may give a person a Spanish language menu unless they specifically request it.
-Any business with a website in Spanish must also have an English language version.

etc.

In this nation everything should be in English only except for some emergency services.

^^^

Of course it should be mentioned that the current, racist, language legislation in Quebec is much more liberal than was once the case.

However English should be realized by everyone to be a part of the cultural sovereignty of the United States.

So businesses can't put up signs or advertise in Spanish?

There's a little thing called the First Amendment that's stopping that from happening.

HA!  I can see it now:

One of our Mexican restaurants is called T. Juan's.  Do we have to have a sign bigger than that that says "T. John's"?

And should "La Pasta" become "The Pasta"?

There's a wonderful restaurant in Minneapolis called "Gasthof zur Gemütlichkeit"... must that also read "Guesthouse of Coziness?"

"oooh, honey!  Let's go to Guesthouse of Coziness for supper tonight!  They have really good Semmelknödel!  Oh, oops.. I mean roll dumplings...  I mean.. I'm a God fearing red-blooded American.. I speak ENGLISH... American.. hehe... A-mare-I-Can!

What a retarded idea.

Quebec's laws are crazy. KFC for example is called "PFK" (poulet frit kentucky) there, eventhough in France it's still called KFC. Same with the stop signs. In Quebec, they all say "arret" while in France they say stop.

When you approach a customer, you must always do so in French. Even the federal street signs in Hull just have French on them, despite being billingual on the Ottawa side of the river.

No because that is the chosen name of the establishment,However the menu and such must be in English.

As someone who makes "foreign sounding dishes" all the time, that's just as retarded.

What about Louisiana where French is one of the States Official languages?
What about Hawai'i where Hawai'in in one of the States Official languages?
What about the territories? In American Samoa they speak Samoan.

As you can probably tell, I think this is ludicrous.

So are we not allowed to have pie à la mode anymore?

What is different between the name of the establishment and the menu?

If you find a stance difficult to explain, that usually means it's time to reconsider whether or not it actually makes sense.

Hell no.

Loi 101 is a retarded nationalist Anglophobic law. Loi 101 is why I don't support the PQ anymore.

I can't go to an English school in Québec because none of my parents studied in English. That's how retarded it is.
