I really have no idea what the cleavages of Indian politics are. Could someone explain?
The only party that are notable are the INC which is generic social democratic (although overall probably more left-wing then most First World social democratic parties), and the BJP (the "conservative" party being somewhat more pro-free market then INC but also a Hindu nationalist party linked to persecution of Christians and Muslims).
INC is the only real option here.
