As Sam said, Elijah Cummings.

I give him an 8, his policies are good overall, but I strongly disagree with how he voted on Schiavo. I give him credit for screaming at Nader during a Congressional Black Caucus meeting though Smiley

Chris Smith is the ing man. I give him a 10. Out of all of the politicians, he is the only one I can find that is pro-life, against the death penalty, in favor of environmental regulation, and center/center-right economically. Almost a perfect match. I WILL campaign for him when he comes up for re-election. He also is honest and true to his beliefs - a rare quality in Washington DC these days.

David Price (D-NC-4)

I agree with him on most things, though he is a bit more conservative than me. I give him a 7.

ID-1, Butch Otter.

Basically a libertarian leaning conservative.  I disagree with him on most things, but he opposses the PATRIOT ACT and he seems like a nice, if kind slow, guy, so he gets a 3.

The name alone deserves a 10. That must have been a hard childhood...

Butch is just a nickname, he goes by C.L. "Butch" Otter, which stands for Clement Leroy.  So I can see why he prefers Butch.

Trent Franks (R-AZ) District 2

6 or 7.  Little too religious for my tastes but no serious beef.  He's to my right socially and I'm to his right economicly.  Other than Ron Paul and the NE RINOs who in the Republican House caucus would that not be true with?

My representative, Zoe Lofgren, makes Ted Kennedy look like a ruthless neo-con.
Ted Kennedy is a ruthless neocon. He's so ruthless, he's been masquerading as a drunken "liberal" for thirty-five years to further the Neoconservative cause.

my congressman is Thaddeus McCotter R  MI 11th district.  He is your average conservative republican congressman he has been a congressman since 2003 this is his second term.  He's a good guy he was my state senator before becoming a congressman, the congress district was drawn for him in includes all of his state senate district (they finally took us out of the Ann Arbor district).  i would rate him a 8.
IIRC it was drawn not just for him but effectively by him and Candy Miller.

Heather Wilson, NM-1. I think I voted a 7 (I voted some days back) but she fluctuates between 5 and 8 depending on my mood. At a meeting with my old neighborhood association, I had written down an arcane question involving the voter registration laws. When she got it, she admitted that she didn't know the answer right off hand but would look into it. A week or two later, I got a packet in the mail which gave me a lot of information and answered my question. She deserves kudos for good constituency work on that one. Wink

She's the best of the NM Congressional delegation in my opinion. She's not Steve Schiff, who would have racked up 9s and 10s, but she'll do. Smiley

Ron Kind (D) WI 3rd District

10. I have no complaints about him. He's liberal and I agree with him on almost everything, in fact he's propably too liberal for a district that voted for Kerry by less than 5 points.

David McGuinty, Liberal. I give him a 5.  I like his brother as my MPP, (and my Premier) much better.

As for my electorate back in New Zealand (Northcote (suburban Auckland)

Ann Hartley - the deputy speaker - she has similar views to me but I can't stand her 3/10

You claim to be a teacher, yet you make the worst, most common grammatical error there is?

Actually, the most common is making "everyone" (and other singular indefinite pronouns) agree with the plural "their" rather than the correct, singular "his or her." And I'd say "get's" would be a spelling error more than a grammatical.

I gave him a 2. I don't completely hate him yet. But I definately don't like him.

Hastert, I gave him 3. The guy sticks to the party line. I think he's ok as a speaker at least compared to some of the other options.
