idle question, how many of VA's Democratic governors (Wilder, Kaine, and Warner) have been solidly liberal on the issues?

None of them. Wilder is very anti-gun, but I don't think he was a liberal firebrand. He spent most of his term preparing to run for President or for the Senate. Warner was a centrist. Kaine has vetoed death penalty expansion legislation because of personal beliefs. They've all been pretty middle-of-the-road.

Deeds' fundraising numbers are out: he raised $600k. Not bad considering he couldn't raise money for half the period.

Good numbers for Deeds.  He could fundraise for a lot of the time, and still managed to stay close to what Moran raised.  This is good.

Hopefully Deeds and Moran split the Anti-McAuliffe vote, and Terry wins with 35%.

I see Terry and Moran splitting the liberal vote, and Creigh wins with 35.

Pat Edmonson dropped out of the Lt. Governor race, she's running for the House of Delegates instead. Makes it a three-way contest between Bowerbank, Signer and Wagner now.

Who I assume were hardcore Obama supporters. Did you let them know about his anti-Obama extremism and desire to perform cunnilingus on Queen Hillary?

I'm sure they're fully aware of that, BRTD. These are people that read DailyKos, 538, etc. daily and intern on the Hill and volunteered on the weekend for a special election for freaking county supervisor like a month ago. Though a fair number of them did support Clinton in the primaries, at least in January and February, if I remember.

Yup.  He and Moran will split the NOVA/youth vote 40-40-10, and Deeds will easily dominate the Southwestern vote, and win the primary with 34-36%.

If Deeds does that poorly in NoVa, he's toast. Phil Puckett won 80+% of the vote in SWVA for the 2005 LG race, and still came in last.

Also, Hillary isn't exactly unpopular in Southwest Virginia, eh?

Terry splitting the liberal vote?HuhHuhHuhHuhHuhHuhHuhHuhHuh?

Well, more specifically, Terry should do well with partisans, many of whom are liberal

There is no party registration in Virginia, so you can pick whichever you want.

Why would partisan Democrats flock to the worst thing to happen to the Democratic Party in decades?

Well, to be fair, many of them are pretty dumb.

indeed, partisanship and wads of cash that overwhelm your opponent in primary off-years

well it's not a bad combination of events.

as to why they're support Terry?  You'll have to ask them that.  Most of the electorate aren't people who realized what a ridiculous persona Terry created for himself during the '08 primaries

Frankly, I doubt very many people care that McAuliffe was a huge Clinton hack in '08. Most Democrats like Clinton quite a bit now, and it's not as if Obama lost because Clinton stayed in until June or something. Hell, if not for Terry and the rest of them, Obama may not have won Indiana or North Carolina.

As I said earlier in this thread, it's not like he ever said anything very negative about Obama, his biggest hack contribution was constantly and blatantly denying that Clinton wasn't winning...he's an insanely positive person
