3 (Franzl, Swedish Cheese, tmthforu)
which puts you 6th behind Barnes on 2nd preferences (4-3)

By my current quick count, you'd get seat #5.

I'll be putting up an update shortly.

Don't have time for a complete count at the minute, but here's Count 1...

Senate Mid-Term Election Count Update

Last Voter: EarlAW
Total Votes: 37
Quota: 7

Count 1
Mint (ARC)11(cutie_15, Alexander Hamilton, segwaystyle2012, Libertas, FallenMorgan, Mechaman, Mint, jamespol, Labhas, Winston Disraeli, Einzige, Earth)
AHDuke99 (RPP)7(NiK, Jbrase, Torie, fezzyfestoon, dead0man, filliatre, nickbjor)
Fritz (JCP)6(Fritz, BRTD, Boris, Ebowed, Lief, Hans-im-Gluck)
Badger (JCP)4(jokerman, Snowguy, Rob, Kalwejt)
Barnes (DA)3(Barnes, HappyWarrior, Antonio V)
afleitch (DA)3(Franzl, Swedish Cheese, tmthforu)
Sewer Socialist (LNF)2(Dr. Cynic, EarlAW)
Al (LNF)1(silent_spade071)

Notes
1 Though this vote was cast as a first preference for Antonio V, as Antonio has not accepted write-ins, nor written-himself in, AFAIK everyone else preferenced moves up in rank accordingly.
2 Presumed ineligible.

The electoral maths gets tricky in later counts, but I think if the election ended now the result would be:
#1 Mint
#2 AHDuke
#3 Fritz
#4 Badger
#5 afleitch

Though the gap between afleitch and Barnes in 6th would be very close.

I may not have any first preferences yet (Cry), but I am still on he ballot. Both Jas and Xahar seemto have forgotten my existance.

Had I made a complete count, you'd be there - you pick up some of Mint's surplus on redistribution - but you're eliminated fairly quickly (after DWTL).

When I get around to complete counts, or indeed when you start getting votes, you'll make the tallies. Until then, I'm afraid you'll just have to be patient.

Could somebody PLEASE post an election update?  I would do it myself, but I haven't the time today.

I'll do another one tomorrow morning.
I wouldn't worry too much if I were you anyway - the JCP mailing list seems to be working just fine.

Total Votes: 43
Last voter: feeblepizza
Seats: 3
Quota: 11

Count 1
Shua17
Snowguy 8
Oakvale 5
True Federalist  4(18 #2 preferences)
WisconsinGurl 4(12 #2 preferences)
Agooji 4(  0 #2 preferences)
Sewer 2
20RP12 0

Appalling vote management by the Populares is costing them any chance of picking up a second seat.

True Federalist and WisconsinGurl getting lots of high preferences, but not enough crucial #1s.
JCP benefitting from that vote split, with Snowguy en route to election and Oakvale very competitive.

As it stands, Snowguy passes the quota and gets elected on Count 6, and True Federalist would get the final seat (by a little over 1 vote) ahead of Oakvale without reaching the quota.

It’s really close between True Fed, Oakvale and TexasGurl for that last seat though; and Snowguy’s seat isn’t itself absolutely safe. Yet.

NOTA1(Sam Spade)

On current votes, shua and Duke are elected on Count 1.
True Federalist, Snowguy and Antonio are all elected following Count 6, ahead of Teddy who at that stage is slightly more than 2 votes shy following reasonably strong gains through the counts on transfers.

However...

With all those JCPers and RPPers left to vote, I can't say I feel very safe...

Given the remaining voters it's likely the final seats will be between Teddy, Oakvale, TF and yourself.

There should be at least one UDL seat there, but that might depend on order of elimination. TF transfers to you fairly well; but your voters don't do likewise - preferring JCP candidates to TF by 6-2.

Antonio11(homelycooking, Marokai, TexasGurl, Yelnoc, Polnut, Antonio, Hans-im-Gluck, Fuzzleton, belgiansocialist, JulioMadrid, hawkeye59)

NOTA1(Sam Spade)

On current votes, Duke is elected on Count 1.
shua on Count 4.
Snowguy, Antonio and True Fed on Count 5.
Oakvale being the last candidate standing not elected, surpassed by TF on Teddy's elimination.

Teddy's campaign seems to be falling behind - there are though more than enough RPP voters remaining to put him back in contention. Oakvale and Teddy's failure to attract any votes from outside their parties isn't helping.

Still fairly close though. Duke seems to be safe, but the other 4 seats are still there for the taking between the remaining 6 candidates.

Not a big deal, but by my count there should be 19 RPPers left to vote, not 20. You seem to have missed Taft4Prez's vote.

Thanks, corrected.

Congrats to Duke, shua, Snowguy, Antonio and Oakvale.

Tough beat True Fed, there's no beating the JCP machine. Only a fraction of a vote short again it looks like.

Well that's interesting. My count resulted in something different, but there's certainly plenty of opportunities to make a mistake somewhere.

True. The numbers are very tight, any unexpectedly invalidated vote could shake-up the result.
It's the most difficult count I can recall - distributing shua's surplus is horrid, and I'm quite tired... so yeah, there could be an error in there somewhere.

Closest election I can recall in a long time - only about a vote a half separating 2nd through 6th.
