I know I’m not in the Democratic Primary but Gore 2024 seems kinda outlandish. And we definitely need an active JB. I haven’t seen anything from him, no offense AFE.

Hello folks. Ypestis (D-NYC) has offered to play as Al Gore, he's a friend and a brilliant player, but I understand this could be disruptive or shake up the dynamics of the game which might already be settled.

But, considering that Pritzker and AOC are inactive, I think it's pretty fair for someone else to take up the space left behind and Gore and JB have similar-ish lanes.

Ypestis has offered to take JB if AFE consents and if people reject Gore.

So, do you think Gore is fair game? I know Spiral will probably be in favor.

(Working on the debate, keep posting and will make the debate once this is settled)

I'd be willing to switch from Pence to AOC (either by having Pence drop out or by him becoming an NPC) if this is an issue.

Gore 2024 is way too ridiculous.

I'd be okay with YPestis joining as Gore, but I would prefer if he played as Pritzker if AFE agrees to it.

I'm in as Gore. I'll make an announcement post tonight and then get into the debate.

It's up to Ypestis but I'll allow Gore. (posted this erroneously in game thread)

Debate up!

Wanted to say I think while Gore is fairly unrealistic, it's not out of the question. Just remember this, Bloomberg is 5 years older than him and people wouldn't bat an eye if he ran. Gore will have trouble with the fact he's been mostly out of electoral politics for the past two decades, but I think it's not fantastical that this could happen. And I know Ypestis is a very smart guy who will make this make sense.

So I got my debate responses in, though I might add some more rebuttals to the other candidate's responses (depending on who adds their candidate's responses hereafter).

But a few notes: I wrote a lot of stuff in response to Pence before realizing that NYE was going to have him drop out anyway. I posted the stuff, but strictly in the context that Noem was under the assumption that Pence was still running when she said it (i.e., Pence first revealed he'd be leaving the contest after she replied to him).

Secondly, I know that the responses were to be quite concise, and I've noticed mine are...kind of long. For that, Dave, I truly apologise, and in a lot of places I tried whittling it down to a more readable amount. But in a few places, I do worry what I wrote is dangerously long. Hope it's okay - but if it is too long, do let me know and I can shorten it.

Trying to take the realism to the next level and reading out my debate responses to try and keep them under a 60 second limit with a 5 second grace period is veryyyy...fun.

This is good, everyone take note (maybe not the methods, but the length!). Re-read the rules!

I will edit my last post to remove any of those public figures who don't support my candidate. I'll have more actual campaign stuff later, but I wanted to see if this was ok.

Yeah remove them all please you just request all surrogates. Gaetz is literally another candidate.

Yeah, sorry, I'm not sure how to go about endorsement requests. Is that in PM?

Just reminding everyone not to get in back and forths. Make your post and stick to it

But a lot of the responses have trickled in after I posted my own response. So if it's good with you I'm going to write a separate post in response to their response where appropriate (though if you'd like I could then edit my older post to fit it all there).

Btw, because I suspected my responses were too long, I did trim them a little.

I just gotta say, this is one of the most fun, detailed and engaging election sims I have played in a long time and I would just like to applaud my fellow players for giving it another level of immersion and realism. Even the crazy characters of Lin Wood and Roger Stone provide a nice shock of humor into this game.

How will post-debate verdicts and reactions be detailed? Will it be through those discussion panels mentioned in the debate post?

I’m not sure but I’m thinking of making a post debate reaction post coinciding with end turn

Mid turn coming tonight (no debate content)

Fair enough. Tbh I didn't post anything else yet because I kind of realised that there wasn't a lot I had to say in response to the candidates (except Wood, but then, he's a meme-tier, joke candidate and there's really no point engaging with him).

Also, just to make sure I'm in compliance with debate rules: I wouldn't be allowed to respond to Ishan's statement on Stone, correct?
