Benconstine Center of Controversy
by South Park Conservative

After I posted that information a few hours ago of a prominent SDPer waiting to enter the Senate race, I received a PM from "Ben Constine" asking who the SDPer was. Trusting his confidentiality I replied back to him who it was. Two minutes later, NWA co-editor Xahar asked me the same question, and I replied back. Four minutes later, I received a PM from Constine claiming that he never sent me a PM. I initially suspected Xahar of hacking Constine's account, but for now I have given him the benefit of the doubt. If anyone knows anything about this, please contact me.

UPDATE: Benconstine sent me a private message claiming he was just stirring things up. However, he sent me a PM later claiming that that was someone else. As this point, I'm inclined to agree with the former viewpoint.

I, Benjamin A. Constine, am very angry about this.  I didn't send either of the PM's SPC mentions in his update, and I am very concerned, and royally pissed off, at the idea that somebody may have hacked my account.

I didn't say that you sent the PMs. However, I gave the information and allowed the reader to decide.

I know; I was speaking primarily to the readers.

To Ben:
I would suggest one asking the mods to check the IP of some of your posts and compare them to other posters.

I've looked through all of my posts, and none are ones that I didn't post.  That isn't the problem; it's these PM's being sent.

And the IP number is tracked for PM's, only posts.

It isn't tracked for PM's?

Anyway, Ben's behavior has been erratic at times. That's all that's left to say about this.

Seriously?  I may be erratic, but my memory is just fine.  And I'll have you know that I never sent the PM's ascribed to me, save for saying "Dude, I didn't send that."  They aren't in my inbox, and neither are the sent messages.  You hacked my account, and you damn well know it.

Why the fuck would I do that?  Even for me that makes no sense.  And today, someone tried to get into my account, but failed to guess my password, so I had to change it.

I sent you a password reminder. If your account's been hacked, you should change your password.

What? If somebody hacked your account, you should change your password.

I did change it.  Twice.

Hmm.

Good that they can't get in, then.

For the record, I am now willing to exonerate Xahar.  I firmly believe it was not him.

I would like to clear something up: there is the assumption that Mr. Xahar manipulated me.  That is simply not true, and I would like for people to stop saying it.

Also, I am very pleased that Mr. Xahar has finally received what he deserves, and I want to see him prosecuted for what he's done.

Will he have any writing emphasis or just do breaking news?

Also, I advise him writing about his own prosecution except in editorials previously run by Peter.

My plan is to not publish anything related to the trial, and I'll be publishing mostly editorials.

End to Protectionism via Social Engineering Act: A Commentary
By: Benconstine

End to Protectionism via Social Engineering Act

1. F.L. 10-2: Protection Act (Textiles, Clothing, Footwear & Steel) is hereby repealed.

2. A tariff of 5% will instead be levied on all imports of foreign textiles, clothing, footwear, & steel.

Sponsor: PiT

This legislation is a good example of how our trade policy should be handled.  Instead of simply handing out a tax cut to corporations that produce the products that are being protected, the Atlasian government will now be able to take in income through a tariff passed on these items.

That is not to say, however, that this legislation is perfect.  In an ideal universe, the tax cuts would be retained, and the tariff would be raised significantly above 5%, to at least 12-15%.  In spite of its flaws, though, this Act is a commendable piece of legislation, and I hope that the Senate will pass, and the President will sign, it as soon as possible.

I somehow doubt that the National Weekly Atlasian has a neoconservative bias.

Very true.  I'm the closest thing to a neocon the NWA has.
