I've been supporting Biden since the beginning. However, whatever the results are, I just hope we can avoid a contested convention and are able to rally around the nominee come time. I don't have the luxury of sitting out an election because the candidate of my choosing did not win. I will enthusiastically support Sanders if winds up with a plurality.

Democrats could be making the same mistake as 2016...going against the energy candidate..we shall see...

So...many...ellipses...
Biden is the swamp. Easy playbook for Trump.

Trump is much more corrupt than Biden ever was or will be. It’s not even a contest

No matter WHAT happens tonight. Dems should be gracious to eachother. Let Bernie or Biden supporters cheer good results and get mad about bad results. We don’t need to be attacking eachother

God, I can't wait until Trump calls out Joe for supporting the Crime Bill and calling African Americans animals and thugs.

Lol the 25 year old crime bill that Sanders voted for and really hurt Hillary with Black people and caused her to lose a whopping 8% and only retain 92% support.

This is just a vote to stop Bernie not a pro-Biden vote.

Do you only come on here to make unsubstantiated, trolling statements?

You're three hours late with that take

I mean, I also said it three hours ago after we got the VA margin, but I'm almost certain now.

Right, no one could have known for certain he would do this good back then.

Tim Kaine was a terrible pick that stopped Hillary from gaining an ounce of excitement  and didn’t help with WWC or moderate Republicans.

James Carville is giddy on MSNBC right now

Well yeah, the commie is getting crushed.
Doesn't mean Biden is the better general election candidate.

You literally just said earlier that you’d rather Bernie win because he’s easier to beat?? Are you a complete idiot or just trolling?

Honestly it's hard to look at these maps and conclude that Sanders has the widespread working class appeal his surrogates have been touting.

Yeah, I hate to admit it but the country's just not ready for Sanders' brand of politics.  Bernie Sanders is not Barack Obama, and until the progressive wing of the party can find a candidate like Obama who has widespread appeal and can sell these policies to voters beyond his or her core base, we're not going to get anywhere close to getting them passed.  All we can do right now is steadily push the mainstream of the Democratic Party to the left, but that is going to take time and generational change.

Once this primary is over though, progressives will be left in the dark without a leader.  Maybe AOC will fill that space, but even she would be too polarizing for the electorate at this time.  We really have nowhere to go.  And until we have another recession, the status quo will continue to dominate.

There is no point in trying to have hope for this country anymore.  Nothing will change.

Someone will come along soon enough. I think a lot of the reason Sanders is lacking support was because of the lack of attempt to win over other candidates’ supporters. Another was that people are tired and Sanders is simply too much drama for some people. I would hardly lose hope for progressives tonight

I was ready compromise and get behind Biden, but seeing all this "haha suck it Bernie Bros you're all losers" is convincing me more and more that there is no room for progressives in the Democratic Party.

There literally hasn’t been that much of that at all? And anyone who IS doing that is an idiot. I’m a Biden supporter who supported Bernie in 2016. I was crushed when he lost. I enthusiastically supported Hillary and my views have changed a bit, but I would never make fun of someone who’s candidate isn’t doing well. People poured their hearts into Bernie and I know how that feels. It sucks

Hey Atlas progressives, as an uncompromising neoliberal and establishment shill, do not lose all hope. Tonight has shown that America has overwhelmingly rejected Bernie Sanders as a human nobody likes, and that Ameroca is not willing to accept uncompromising, divisive, socialist radicals woth a savior mentality. Next time instead of going for a purist star, go for a progressive (not socialist) workhorse with strong policy as well as strong rhetoric. There are plenty of choices. But you will lose if you go as left as Sanders (focus on builind a winning coalition around a few key issues) and embrace the unifying Buttigeig approach to politics instead of the losing Sanders strategy. Best wishes, even though I hope you keep losing.

Wow so mature dude. This is completely unnecessary and counterproductive. Do you even realize how big of a hypocrite you are being right now? Calling Sanders divisive then acting accordingly... what a joke. Biden supporters don’t want you in our corner

Sanders supporters have every right to be upset right now. There is no need to antagonize them. Not only do we need them in the GE, but they are feeling the same way we thought we were going to feel until just 4 or 5 days ago. Let’s not be hypocritical or arrogant

That's exactly what a lot of national dems like Carville are doing tonight though which goes back to my main point about the democrats in 2020 which is I don't see the party uniting to high enough degree to win.

Bernie supporters and Biden supporters: please be nice to one another. We all need each other to beat the fascist prick in the White House.

Thanks! Smiley
This post is hippie nonsense.

As long as all the different libs are going to show up in November to vote for the Dem candidate to defeat Trump, and not stay home, the Bernie socialist libs and the moderate libs SHOULD be at each other's throats. They are enemies and they want totally different things for this country.

You have no clue what ur talking about

I have to say I'm pissed off more than anything. Biden didn't win this himself. Some last minute shady deals between Buttigieg, Klobuchar, Beto, and the entirety of the media did.

Endorsements didn’t do this, momentum from South Carolina, Joes improvements over the past two weeks, a fear of Sanders as the nominee, and a sign of peace and unity from the endorsements ALL did this

Joe Biden is a disaster.. hope there is a contested convention this time around IMO. These results are pretty much a tie.

Well that’s just denial of the truth, but I understand being upset. I thought I was going to be in your shoes tonight and was getting ready to rally behind Sanders

The socialists want free healthcare, free college, trillions in government spending on wind and solar energy, and taxing millionaires so high that they'll all move away to different countries. The moderates want pre-Trump America. Those are two VERY different visions for America.

I’m a moderate and I certainly don’t want only a return to pre trump America. We have a vision too.... *rolls eyes

A public option as a path to universal coverage
Free community college and more affordable public universities
Huge investments into renewable energy
Get drug prices WAY down
Comprehensive immigration reform... etc

This is still a vision for America and not just a return to the norm

Next time they hold a Sanders rally in your district, DON'T go to it.

The Bern is dead. Bury it. (Consider this mercy.)

Illini Moderate, we got another one

They have a blue avi and I’ve called out several ppl on this forum already. Plus I don’t see how that one is bad. It’s just overconfidence, not rubbing it in or tearing anyone down personally
