Only 13 states held primaries at this time (California, Oregon, Nebraska, South Dakota, Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Florida). What if Reformers from both Parties never seized control of their Party's machinery, and this continued for the 1972- 2008 GOP/Dem primaries.
