I would have considered either a governor or a senator from a key swing state who could win some Independent votes.  I had thought during the process that Richardson would have been a good choice, but I suppose, were I Obama, that the vetting team would have found too many problems.  I think two good choices would have been Bill Nelson from Florida or Webb from Virginia.

Actually, I think you're right, Webb would have been risky.  Nelson, I think.
