Takeing a break at work but had to pass this on for fellow posters to celebrate the good news. this was in the paper today.

My state Ohio is in the sh&&tter financially because of our idiot liberal governor.  But rather than be to hard on him I thought I would do a search and find out that other states with conservative governors are in a mess also.  Guess waht.

North Dakota Indiana, and Alaska are the only 3 states in america that have not been force to raise taxes on working citizens to solve a budget crisis.  Guess what all 3 states have in common?  Yep you guessed it a Conservative Republican governor.  Palin/parnel...Daniels and hoeven.

Indiana has had 5 straight years of surplus. and has collected less taxes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

north Dakota and Alaska have not had to cut school funding OR raise taxes for schools.

Well well well liberals.  What do you say to that?  I dont mean to crow but I think you have to admit that the conservative way of no or low taxes, cutting welfare and entitlements, favoring business and industrys, and so forth leads to prosperty.  Reagan proved it once.  Now his idealogical heirs are proving it again.

I tell ya what.  If Tom Coburn or James deMint dont run for Pres maybe we should look at Mitch daniels and Jon Hoven.

I don't know what you are talking about. In my state, no one actually pays taxes...thank God for big Oil and Big Brother in Washington.

The same is true in Alaska, which actually gives money to its residents as a share of the state's oil revenues.

North Dakota's biggest industries are agriculture and oil.  With commodity prices through the roof in the past 3 years, of course North Dakota has done well.

Keep in mind that during Reagan's time, the Dakotas and other 'conservative' farm states didn't have too many nice things to say about Ronald Reagan.

As far as unemployment in North Dakota.. it is low because they don't have very many young people left, so the ones that are still there are getting jobs.  The exodus of youth in North Dakota has been happening since the depression.  There's a reason why the population of North Dakota is smaller today than it was in 1920.

What about conservative states like Arizona and Nevada?  How are they faring in this crisis?

Also, I can assume, then, that all of my state's budget problems are because of Republican Gov. Tim Pawlenty?

Good, I'm glad to have a batsh**t crazy agreeing with me on something.

Those tax-raising liberals Bobby Jindal, Rick Perry, and Haley Barbour could learn a thing or two. Bastards!

When did Reagan create a surplus exactly?

How about taking tax rates back to the level they were under Reagan? Because, obviously, it can only mean "prosperity"!

Alaska is probably the most socialist state in the country. Good to know that Coburn approves.

Isn't Alaska the primary net beneficiary of federal government spending? [relative to what it contributes]

I think so. If it's not at the top, it's definitely way up there alongside MS and AL.

Here's the Governor of Alaska, in her own words, explaining the super conservative, super laissez faire, totally not socialist at all economic system in her state:

If only California could have the per capita oil tax/royalty revenue Alaska has, and then keep out another 20 million folks from pouring in, and it would all be grand!  And then if we could get ethanol-like subsidies (you know lucrative subsidies that have no real justification except well it's SSSSS) for making films and other "artistic" stuff that would help a lot too.
