Democrats in 2016.  I just feel like the Republican women are either not good for the base(Snowe, Hutchison, Rell) or incapable (Palin).  I think in 2016 we could have a President Hagan or Herseth-Sandlin.

Yeah right. Her intellect is inferior to Sarah Palin's. She'll never go anywhere.

The GOP may die or become a fringe party before it nominates a woman. Collins, Murkowski, or Snowe? Either wins -- as a Democrat after defection or expulsion from the GOP.

In present day politics there is no well-known credible woman who may become president other then Sarah Palin. That doesn't mean that the Republicans will die out if a woman is nominated someday. I admit, the Democrats have a longer list of candidates who may become president in modern day politics, but it doesn't mean any of them will win or ever run.

She has much credibility -- among about 35% of the American people. The rest of us?

When she contradicts herself in one sentence she turns the other 65% us off.

This is my list of women who could run for President between 2012-2020

Kay Bailey Hutchison(R-TX): If she doesn't run in 2012 then she will never run.
Karen Handel(R-GA): If she wins the republican governor primary and win the governor race in GA
Kay Ivey(R-AL): Read above.
Kelly Ayotte(R-NH): If she win Senate race
Mary Fallin (R-OK): Read GA and AL
Sarah Palin (R-AK): Its Sarah.

I actually think Sarah Palin has a higher credibility rating then that. She just has to study and travel the world. Maybe run for Senate in Alaska. 2008 was way too soon for her to be on the scene. It would have been better if she wasn't chosen as VP and waited run for President in 2016 as Alaska Senator Palin, knowledgable and the opposite of that hillbilly redneck we see. But can she recover? We'll see. I'm just saying Palin is the only well-known woman capable of becoming President in the near future. That is if one believes Hill-dog will never run again.

Likely would be from the Democrats.  First women lean Democratic, and would make up a larger % of the Democratic Primary electorate than they would the GOP Primary electorate.   Also the majority of the elected female officials are Democrats.  Out of the current elected females (Senate, Gov, etc) the only women in the GOP who would be acceptable on the national level wouldn't be able to get past a primary (Rell, Collins, Snowe, Lingle)

Repubulican...because I think enough independents who are intrigued by the prospect of a female president (and would normally vote Democratic) would jump over to vote for her, provided she's more moderate than the religious right.

If she were a Democrat, Republicans would scare independents away by portraying her as a statist b*tch, like they did with Hillary Clinton

Well since Palin was treated in a fair manner, you may be correct.

Could either way. The Democratic primary electorate is probably more likely to nominate a woman, but I don't see any reason why a socially conservative woman couldn't win a Republican primary.

Democrat, because of identity politics.  The blacks have had their turn; the feminists want theirs.

Who will run as a Democrat.

Okay, I'm joking there, but it seems as likely as her being elected as a Republican, if not more so.

I obviously cannot predict the future, but I do not believe that a woman will be elected President in the time frame I have outlined.

In eighty to ninety years, or about the next fifteen Presidents? Are you insane?
