2040? You cannot tell what is going to happen in 30 years. Who knows what might happen? There may not be Dems and Reps. Idaho could turn safe democrat, for all we know. 30 years ago, the west was Republican, The east was not reliably Democratic (except for Mass.)

I still have no idea what will happen, this was just a map a made for the fun of making a map.
