Wilson Research Strategies was commissioned by Peter Schiff to conduct a live-interview telephone survey of likely Connecticut voters to determine the feasibility of a run for U.S. Senate against Chris Dodd in November 2010. WRS completed the survey of n=400 likely voters June 24–25, 2009. The sample was stratified to be geographically and demographically representative of the likely voter population of Connecticut. The study has a margin of error of ±4.9%.

Chris Dodd 42%
Peter Schiff 38%

Rob Simmons 47%
Chris Dodd 38%

I foresee Connecticut playing the role of New Jersey for Republican Heartbreaker this election. Since NJ will not be doing the job in '09, either.

I don't think Dodd will win. Simmons is a strong challenger, and we arent that big fans of Dodd here right now. A lot of Dems around here who supported him in 2008 arent even coming out to endorse him right now.. regardless of who wins, it's going to be a close race.

Dodd hasn't commited any firing offenses. He's still in tune with his state in terms of partisanship and Obama is an asset. His scandals and missteps are minor. And he isn't asleep at the switch; he recognizes the problem and is working his ass off to keep his seat.

I think political junkies and idealists are tired of him, but that doesn't translate into his losing his seat to anything short of a stellar challenger. I don't believe Simmons is necessarily that person.

Democrats are so desperate, republicans are so over confident. I honestly think Dodd will lose, but by a Franken margin on election night.
