I'm thinking of a situation like Iraq's invasion of Kuwait...North Korea's invasion of South Korea or the various Axis invasions of the 1940's....

Just curious as to what you folks see on the horizon and where.  It needn't be an attempt to gobble up an entire country...it could just be a region.

Some could argue that we saw it back in August, with Russia and Georgia.  I say we absolutely see it again, either in the Middle East or the Korean Peninsula.

Eritrea and Ethiopia have a border dispute that flared into a war from 1998 to 2000 that could go easily go hot again.

LOL. Smiley But to be fair we didn't try to incorporate Iraq as a part of America.

How the hell does Russia/Georgia qualify? There was no attempt to annex Georgia, or even any part of Georgia.

Russia has not officially incorporated Abkhazia or South Ossetia two territories into the Russian Federation, but they are really de-facto Russia at this point, and there is a not-so-slow process of assimilation occuring as Russia takes over responsibility of many normal state-functions, such the responsibility for border security, airports and railways.

Here's a decent article about the subject, but this is far from all of it:

"Most Abkhaz residents carry Russian passports. The Russian ruble is their official currency. They communicate predominantly in the Russian language. And at least 3,800 Russian troops are based on their territory, including many on their frontiers."

At some point, if it feels strong enough, a bellicose Persia may attempt to take Bahrain.
