Or maybe it could be John Lynch?

PPP's previous poll of Ohio:

Strickland 45%
Kasich 39%

So, it wouldn't exactly be a 25-30 point swing.

I wonder why there's such a big spread between Quinnipiac and PPP ...

Unlikely. Lynch had 70% approval ratings 1 month ago when University of NH polled him.

I wonder if 2010 is going to be like 2002, when a whopping 20 governor's mansions changed party control:

I must say that Jay Nixon's numbers are MUCH better than Matt Blunt's. Tongue

Ouch, Ahnuld is approaching Paterson-levels of disapproval...

Paterson has to be doing a better job than Arnold.

Anyways Gray Davis bottomed out at 24-65, so Arnold's 24-73 beats him.

Hmm, I think a recall would be a fitting end to his governorship...

I'd really like to see some new numbers on Quinn. I don't know quite how popular he has remained or will remain in the budget crisis.

Interesting that the governors with negative approval are mostly Democrats in Democratic states.

I've noticed that too, Bill Ritter isn't looking too good right now.

The latest Quinn poll is rather new, conducted by Rasmussen on June 9:

57% Approve
41% Disapprove

55% Favorable
39% Unfavorable

I've noticed that too, Bill Ritter isn't looking too good right now.

Yeah, he's pretty moderate for a Democrat. I saw an analysis, and what I found ironic, given the national situation, that Latinos were the reason Ritter's approvals are low-ish.

What has he done to piss them off?

Appointed a white guy in Salazar's seat.

How is Salazar not white? His ancestry is purely from Spain, aka Europe, and his ancestors lived in the US before mine did.

Really? I think I remember him saying that his family came from Mexico four hundred years ago in his 2004 victory speech.

...

Ok, the point wasn't that it was four hundred years ago; the point was that they didn't come from Spain. I was refuting your point that he was European/white.

I'm pretty sure Salazar has indigenous blood in him so he's not "purely" European. Four hundred years in Mexico is a long time removed from Spain to be "purely" Spanish/European/white.

Bev Perdue (D-NC):

25% Approve
55% Disapprove

If you were going to blame a politician for the current problems with the economy, would it be George W. Bush, Barack Obama, or Bev Perdue?

Bush: 56%
Obama: 37%
Perdue: 6%

Who do you hold more responsible for the current problems with the economy?

Obama: 57%
Perdue: 43%

PPP surveyed 767 North Carolina voters from July 10th to 12th. The survey’s margin of error is +/-3.5%. Other factors, such as refusal to be interviewed and weighting, may introduce additional error that is more difficult to quantify.

Bahaha, good job.  McCrory was the obviously better choice, even the Perdue voters can see that now.

Why are her ratings so abysmal?

I can't believe that's just because of the economy. North Carolina isn't exactly Michigan or Ohio and to sink that low you must exhibit a deadly combination of ineptness AND corruption ala Bob Taft and Rod Blagojevich.
