I think that it was a draw, and with the exception of Cheney's reaction to the gay marriage question, quite boring. Cheney was more consistent and smarter, Edwards was more charismatic and appealing to the average voter. A draw for sure, this won't affect a thing.

Cheney cleaned Edwards' clock.  The points that Edwards brought up against Cheney have all been heard.

Cheney's first answer was poor, his second answer was probably the strongest possible answer.

Cheney showed tonight why he is still on the ticket.  Finally, Kerry's weak defense record as a Senator is brought up in the debates!

Slight Cheney win on all fronts.  Neither fumbled and both got in their zingers.

I disagree Super, I think the attacks on Cheney's records (plastic guns, MLK day, Head Start, Meals on Wheels, etc.)  were pretty new.  You believed that Bush won the first debate, correct?

My first thoughts was to call this debate a 'draw'.

Cheney certainly did a better job than Bush at defending the administration's Iraq policy. However, Edwards countered much of what Cheney had to say. The fact that Cheney was more able to defend the administration's record, in addition to offering a critique of Kerry, than Bush did last week speaks volumes. Is Cheney the power behind the throne or is he just simply a more capable man than Bush?

Both Cheney and Edwards were very articulate with their own message, which will appeal to their respective base. However, since Edwards outscored Cheney on domestic issues and the economy, much more than Cheney did with Edwards on Iraq, I’m calling the debate, marginally, for Edwards.

I thought it was a clear Edwards win.. I'm mystified that many seem to disagree.

Well it is true it was my own personal impression, nothing more.

As for sounding like a Democrat, are we supposed to just pick the winner based on party, or on actual performance?

Remember when Dick Cheney said that he had never met John Edwards before. Well, look at this photo:

OK, so he did. But did Kerry and Bush ever meet before their debates.
