http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bob_Cashell

Robert "Bob" Cashell is the current Republican mayor of Reno, Nevada, elected in 2002. He served as Lieutenant Governor of Nevada from 1982 to 1986, and on the University of Nevada System Board of Regents from 1979 to 1982. He is also a prominent businessman, owning Cashell Enterprises, a hotel/casino company.

The Politico article highlighted that endorsement above all else.  Not sure why this Republican feels the need to make his support for Reid clear, but he has.

It's surprising to see the governor's wife and numerous mayors supporting Reid.  The major GOP fundraisers are less surprising since they're probably more interested in political influence through the leader of the Senate than actual ideology.
