500 registered voters took part in the poll, which was conducted between April 27th and 30th and whose margin of error is plus or minus 4.3 percent.

Agree. I know Delaware is a small state and Beau Biden has a stronger resume than Lincoln Chafee, but this is ridiculous.

Well Mike Castle is the strongest candidate there is in the state.

How's the House race shaping up?

Not looking too good for Biden jr, is it?

Although it's not necessarily that surprising...considering that Castle got 60+ in his House race even in a year like 2008.

I could live with either one as Senator, personally.

IMO, he's a "RINO" who I believe would vote similarly to the Maine senators if elected. He appears to be pro-choice, pro stem cell research, pro environmental protection....was against an amendment banning gay marriage. He seems to be center-right on econmics. A good ole Northeastern Republican, I'd say.

How's the House race shaping up?

Castle hasn't even made it certain that he'll leave the House seat, and his most recent statement was highly ambiguous as to whether he was thinking about running for Senate or thinking about retiring altogether.

That said, this is a Republican poll (probably commissioned to try to convince Castle to run), and the other poll I saw of the race had Castle ahead in the middle single digits, IIRC.

castle > the credit card company's whore

That's like saying that the West Virginia and Kentucky senators are the coal mining companies' whores.

Verily said that it's a poll commisioned by Republicans, not that the firm is Republican.

That said, I agree with the fact that Castle leads but the margin is ridiculous.

Castle got 38% of Democrats against a nobody opponent in 2008. No way is he going to get 36% against a Biden. Come on, people.

http://www.cnn.com/ELECTION/2008/results/polls/#DEH01p1

I would also like to know how he leads 82 to 25 among Republicans. Voter fraud!

He voted against the stimulus vote.  He would probably vote more like McCain or Bond.

I heard that Castle said on a radio station in Delaware that he's either retiring or running for Senate, because being a Representative is "harder than it seems", so why not run for something more demanding like Senate rite.

But he's on like 15 different committees in the House because of his seniority. If he goes to the Senate, he can just cast votes and not have to worry about being on a billion different committees.

Actually, he'd probably be on more committees in the Senate. Castle is on two House committees, with five subcommittees between them. Compare this to a freshman Senator like, say, Mike Johanns, who is on five committees, with eight subcommittees.
