Ted Kennedy wins the Democratic nomination 1980. He picks Morris Udall as his running mate. The opposition is still Reagan/Bush. No Anderson.

I think this topic has already been done. Anyways, I assume Kennedy would win by a very close margin.

Kennedy probably wouldn't win. He wasn't a very strong candidate. In fact the Ted Kennedy we know and love today really didn't exist back then. It was his failures that humbled him and made him into the ultimate parliamentarian. Reagan probably would have won.
