Garcia strikes me as a bit of a prick, but I voted for him due to his almost objectively superior first name.

Uribe has balls of steel, but I like Lula better, given what he's done for Brazil.

I like Correa, Bachelet, Lula and Vazquez; dislike Chavez and Kirchner, and i'm either neutral or have no knowledge of the rest. I'm very interested to see how Lugo turns out.

Me of course.  Chavez by far, though South America has much better leaders generally than the North America.

May the Guyannais damn me! Pardon!

That said, you could have seen a spontaneous metro French reaction, outside for those who go on holidays there, everyone use to forget overseas territories.

I've learned a good deal about these leaders in my Latin American Politics class last semester (and some more in my Democratization class this semester taught by the same professor). I'll go with Uribe.

We didn't focus much on Paraguay. All I remember about those lessons was the thought that the country was the most corrupt in Latin America and some Catholic bishop ran for President or whatever. Is Lugo that bishop?

Yes, first leftist President elected for something like 50 years. Moderate left by all accounts.

Ah, ok, I vaguely remember. Well, if Paraguay was as bad as it was made out to be, I would have supported him as well.

I guess you mean in a "Not so good for a Catholic bishop" kind of way.  Tongue
